This may or may not be known, but as we all deal with the Winter months ahead, you can use this code for half off Bluelink including remote start. And since they are sneaky, you have to sign up for both services to get full remote start capability. But their app is pretty sweet and it ends up being only $10/month vs $20/month.

I thought I would pass on as I remember/forget things like this.

I only use the monthly plan for the Winter months and cancel after it warms up, so not sure if this works on the full year subscription. But it ends up only being about $10/month with fees and taxes.

Thank you OP. My 3-year plan expired, and this is the perfect plan and price for the New England winter time.

says it only works on per month instead of annual. won't show me monthly price since I'm not able to renew yet. What's the month to month cost normally?

Normally $20/month for both services vs $10/month with discount.

So the car itself has the remote start option built into it but you have to pay a subscription fee to utilize it? For a basic function like remote start is crazy.

sorry I have an EV, not sure what the separate services do. What does the additional service do?

This is different from normal remote start function build into car key fob. Its uses cell service you can remote start the car from anywhere if you have cell service. You can still use the Key fob remote start function no need of a subscription for that.

Ok, I wouldn't pay a dime for Bluelink. As far as the remote start goes you would be better off getting a 3rd party system from Best Buy when they go on sale. Besides, if a car company has an app, it should be free with the purchase of their over priced vehicles.

don't be fooled with this offer.

i was given 70% off code but it DOESN'T APPLY directly on the annual $100 remote starter plan, you need to purchase another useless feature called CONNECTED CARE for early $100 to get the remote star plan.
so you need to buy $200 yearly plan and the code will apply on one of them only not both. rip off not worth the cost

You are confused. The Blue Link service is for giving your car cellular service, if your car has cellular service available then you can send commands to it from anywhere in the world through a Computer through the web browser or from you phone through an App. As far as I know Best Buy doesn't offer such things.

Remote start that you are thinking of, from a key fob is included for free without having to pay anything.

That said, I agree with you, $20 a months or $10 a months is crazy in my opinion. It is nice being able to lock or unlock the doors from wherever you are, check if you forgot to lock them. Nice to know if the alarm went off or someone hit your car. Nice to be able to turn off the lights and trigger the horns. Unlocking doors has come more than handy to do from miles and miles away for someone else. But still, $20 is too much. Make it $5 and maybe I'll consider it.

Thank OP for posting this deal though. I'm sure some will take advantage of it.

It's a stupid functionality. Why would anyone want to remote start a car miles away?

Keyfob should work most cases. And even in case of a large parking lot, compustar has their keyfobs to work a long distance. Why bother with costly cellular plan.

And even if it's definitely needed, a cellular plan for just that shouldn't cost "only $10/month". A $20/year TracFone plan should be enough.

I have a 2017 Tucson LX with key fob and push button start. Can someone explain to me how to use remote start with it? The manual says you have to have the subscription to use it. I did the discounted subscription the first year, but didn't really use it enough to justify the cost.

It depends on the car. Many Hyundai cars have remote start that only works via Bluelink. There is no functionality to turn on remote start via the fob. I have a 2020 Hyundai Kona. My 3 yr service expired a year ago. But I didn't sign up again.

As things stand right now, I cannot remote start my car without paying for this service or getting an after-market system installed.

The app also allows you to set the climate controls when you start it, you don't get that out of an aftermarket fob. When I park my car I don't have the AC or heat blasting when it was turned off so if I used an after market starter I would come back and my cars engine would be warm but the car interior is still too cold or too hot. The aftermarket starters suggest you set your settings like that before turning your car off, that's a pain to remember to do every time. With the app you can have it blast your heat and ac. I think it's a great feature but $20 a month is too much, should be a $5 a month cost.

Doesn't make sense why they price it so high. I don't know of anyone that pays for it after the free period. Everyone I've talked says under $10 a month they would buy it. You'd think Hyundai would be smart enough to see that they'd get more money if the lowered the cost as more people would sign up.

This is definitely a cool feature, BUT paying $10-20 bucks a month for this absolutely insane. This should be around the $5 range. Apparently they're satisfied with the few percentage of people who pay the insane costs to justify lowering it for more subscribers.

I don't know anyone (2 family, and a few neighbors) that continues to use it after the free period due to costs.

I eventually went with https://mykeypremium.com/collections/all with super simple install and never looked back. Definitely doesn't give you the range or the app ability, as it uses the original keyfob.
