Just a fair warning, the base M3 does not allow for dual external displays. Only one external display allowed.

Ordered one, thanks OP.
PROs:
This is th best value laptop you can find with the M3 lineup:
This is a great deal, the new air with m3 will probably start at $1,100. Add 512 GB SSD and 16 GB ram will become $1,500. The M3 pro starts at $2k, I never seen it cheaper than $1,800.

Cons:
Compared to M3 pro models, it is weaker in terms of performance, there is one fewer usb-c port, no new black color, and supports only one external monitor.

Bought the base M3 from a Best Buy open box for $1350. Been enjoying the faster screen and ports compared to my old Air. I decided to spring for this deal and will return my base model. At $1500 for this, I don't feel like an idiot for not sliding up to the M3 Pro. I really don't need the power of the Pro chips. Most of my usage is Chrome and MTG Arena. Sometimes I edit 4k video, photos, and websites.

I recognize I'm spending a little more than I need to. I think whenever I resell this laptop, I will have an easier time finding a buyer with 16gb of RAM.

This will my first Snapple laptop. I think for the price it is decently configured. I dont care about more than one external monitor. I dont have room.

Can anyone chime in to the legitimacy of this company, warranty, etc.? Trying to find some info, but not having great success. Great deal though... just what I need.
They are one of our IT corp vendors. We get all equipment, licenses, etc from them. They are legit.

FYI, they reached out to confirm the order and required the use of a landline associated with my address in order to validate that the details of the order. If you don't have a landline you can use for this validation they may not accept credit card transactions and will ask you to either send a check or wire payment for the computer.

I used the order tracking link from my email to check on it today. It updated from "order received" to "preparing for shipment" to a "shipping label generated" over the workday.

How would they know the difference between a landline and cellphone based on the phone number we provide?

This company has been around for decades… they still list MacConnection as a subsidiary, who was one of a few companies that would publish monthly color catalogs back in the '90s with Macs, clones, accessories, Mac software.

Funny thing… I could often get their (and/or their competitor's gear) via phone and shipping faster than most Amazon / other shipped gear today … there was a warehouse near a hub for Airborne Express (like FedEx) … one could call in an order by 11p ET at night and it would be on a plane that night and at my doorstep before noon the next day.

this laptop is a great deal for the average person without special computing needs, thanks!
Definitely for that average person. No computing needs. 1499 usd when an air cost 799.

Went ahead and snagged one since this is essentially the perfect laptop for me. I've been on the fence to wait on the M3 Airs, but this price is very good considering what you get versus the 15" Air. Most people aren't going to plug it into a monitor and if you need more than one screen, use a dock that supports DisplayLink.
- 16GB RAM cheaper than the 8GB SKU
- 14" screen is the ideal screen size for any laptop
- M3 is more than enough for daily, normal tasks
- M3 gives you 22 hours of battery life
- Better speakers than the Air
- Better screen than the Air

would anyone take this deal over the M2s or M1s that have dropped tremendously in price?

I currently have a 2021 Mac Mini 8GB. I'm wondering if this is a good enough deal for the price, or if I could get more value by buying one of the older M2s or M1s

This is a good deal and exactly the laptop I would get if I needed one for semi-pro use. As long as you're OK with only one external display, this thing will serve you well for many years to come.
what do you mean only 1 external display? I though the MBPs could connect to multiple displays? in fact, my M2 MBP can connect to 2 external displays via HDMI and USB-C
