Years ago Norton was a resource hog. I jumped on the Bitdefender wagon then and haven't looked back. No problems or breaches but I do recommend turning off the "upsell" notifications as they can be Clippy levels of annoying if you don't.
Just tested this and purchased the same subscription I already had that didn't expire until 2024. When I activated the code it gave me two options, extend my current subscription or to add a new subscription. Extending my current subscription worked fine.
Make it 1 device, for 5 years, and they've got a deal!

Easy to send link/copy QR code BUT the flaw comes after it's installed. Even with the "unique" invitation, it asks for a sign in or Create New account. 1st I created a new user account in hopes it's a slave account to the primary; Nope! I even tried to find a way to enter the Product ID; Nope. Uninstalled.

I just resorted to using my primary login for my other device and my kid's. It defeats the purpose when you have to share credentials to your family member's devices.

What am I doing wrong?
Got a response from BD chat in response to above:
I understand sir, but this is how the process must be done, I apologize for the inconvenience.

Me: Does this complaint get bucketed for future discussions? If not, it should.

BD: As that device is not registered yet to the Bitdefender account, how can the Bitdefender account recognize that device? That's why for the first time you need to do it this way, this is a security mesure, not an issue.

Me: If an install is issued from Central to other devices, it should immediately recognize that an install is intended to be completed and is already authorized via the invitation.
In IT environment that's the concept how software is deployed to users.

BD: Ok, sir, I will send your case to the tech department, and they will be able to help you.
Feel free to but I'm sure there is no immediate solution to this flaw. Just send it up so they are aware.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Yeah, I use ExpressVPN as their Lightway protocol is pretty speedy. I may change to Bitdefender's VPN next year though as it's like $69/year and Express is up to $119. Having the VPN built in with the security software is a nice convenience.
Windscribe has 3 years for $70 being offered on stack social at the moment

Dang that's a good deal. I might go with Bitdefender next year though to not have to have another app, account, etc.

Anyone know... if I buy this now, is there a time by which I must activate by? Or, can I buy now and activate next year?

I used Bitdefender for years but it has become bloatware. For Windows users, the included Microsoft Defender is plenty good.
I've been working in cybersecurity for over 10 years now and y our comment just made me wanna puke.. Please don't post stuff that is utterly useless.

ESET is the best IMO.
Windows Defender tend to be little resource hog.
BitDefender force you to uninstall MalwareByte(and some other security apps)and does not have temporary disabling feature on the task bar icon.

I purchased the 1-Year Malwarebytes Premium (3 Devices; Digital Download) $12.99 with the intent on extending my current subscription (as mentioned by previous posts), however a Malwarebytes rep confirmed the following to me:

"Malwarebytes licenses cannot be combined and are treated as separate subscriptions. Retail licenses, such as the ones you bought from Newegg, begin their countdown timer once they are activated. We cannot modify or extend 3rd party purchases."

I just activated the license code a week ago (3-device license that expires on 12/08/2024). If anyone is interested, please PM me, will sell for $10 via Venmo/Zelle.

Can someone confirm if these coupons are expired or if there are alternate coupons for these?

Thanks.

Maybe over?

Newegg: "HMM... we can't seem to find promo code SWCP42 on our end. Check again?

Ended up going to Amazon and bought the 1 year /5 PC Total Security for $18.99. My existing subscription was to expire 4 Jan 2024.

Same here. Used some Amazon digital rewards too.
QQ - If you add the new activation code today in BitDefender Central, will it extend the expiry date by 1 year or it will forfeit the remaining period in the current subscription & be valid for 1 year from today? TIA.

EDIT: NM, I found someone already mentioned that it gives 2 options while adding the new activation code. I chose to extend and my subscription was successfully extended.
