Years ago Norton was a resource hog. I jumped on the Bitdefender wagon then and haven't looked back. No problems or breaches but I do recommend turning off the "upsell" notifications as they can be Clippy levels of annoying if you don't.

Just tested this and purchased the same subscription I already had that didn't expire until 2024. When I activated the code it gave me two options, extend my current subscription or to add a new subscription. Extending my current subscription worked fine.

Make it 1 device, for 5 years, and they've got a deal!

Thanks for the idea - this is exactly what happened to me earlier this year when my malwarebytes sub ran out, and couldn't get a deal. Got Bitdefender, but honestly I don't like it. Not that it doesn't work, but I find malwarebytes more user friendly - so much so that I'm willing to loose out on the rest of my bitdefender sub to switch back.

Waiting for the 4 year student deal again. Dont remember how much it was but it was cheap.
The 5$ student deal probably will never come again for Malwarebytes .I wish too in 2020 that was the best deal

This is a great deal! Last year I paid the same price for 1 year and 10 devices. 2 years and 15 devices for $35 is a steal. I own an MSP company and we use Bitdefender Gravityzone for clients that don't want to pay more for Sentinel One. I use the regular Bitdefender for home with a firewall and I've never had a problem. We use Sentinel One on our office PC's because it's worth the extra $.

Why is BitDefender considered better than Malwarebytes? I personally love MB and never used BD..

If you get a virus and research how to remove viruses, a lot of sites will start off with "run Malwarebytes scan..." and go from there. It says a lot when Malwarebytes is one of the go-to solutions for viruses.

I have not been hit with ransomware, so, have no clue how well either protects from ransomware.

Can bitdefender get stacked? As in can I buy two 2 year deals and walk away with 4 years of protection?

Just use a better VPN like Surfshark or NordVPN. I have Bitdefender on all my computers and devices and it works great. I use NordVPN and turn the VPN access off in the settings.
Yeah, I use ExpressVPN as their Lightway protocol is pretty speedy. I may change to Bitdefender's VPN next year though as it's like $69/year and Express is up to $119. Having the VPN built in with the security software is a nice convenience.

Bitdefender is faster and better at detection. The reason is, Bitdefender's engine doesn't rely on signatures and detection rules to identify threats and protects against both identified and unidentified threats in real time by using AI algorithms.

Running a scan with Malwarebytes is just scanning for malware and spyware. You have to purchase Malwarebytes Premium to get the anti-virus and run an virus scan. If you're using the free version of Malwarebytes, then Windows Defender is your anti-virus.

VPN is limited to 200 MB/day/device, not much value there.
CyberGhost VPN has a great three-year deal for seven devices.

You're not getting unlimited VPN for $35 for two years from anyone that I know of.

Only if you buy the exact same item twice. I have two separate subscriptions (one is 5 devices, the other is 15 devices) and they are completely separate Frown

Does Bitdefender do any proactive stuff before they download / click on malware sites? The elders have ESET antivirus but it doesn't seem to kick in until it's too late, hence the Malwarebytes
Yes, it does it at the network level and also has a web browser extension.

ProtonVPN can be had for free. However, their free servers can get clogged and service slows to a crawl.
