Was able to snag one by me! About to go pick it up and see what condition it's in. Hoping not a floor model.
Awesome, let us know how it goes!

There is one 30 miles away, any suggestions on how to get it on hold?

I'll need to do some research. I have mostly been looking at the s90c and lg g3, so I'm not sure how this compares.

Edit: F it, TV looks great so I just ordered it for in store pickup. I have a couple days to decide. Do Open Box items come with manufacturer warranty?
Yes they do come with warranty, but check the condition of the item, usually they mark it as excellent, good , fair etc which might indicate anything from missing stand/ remote to scratches on screen. You have to carefully evaluate these because every open box item is different.

If this tv is like my Sony OLED, the remote doesn't have number buttons. You'd need to use another remote other than the one that comes with it. An IR universal remote or possibly a Vizio remote would work. I just tried with a remote from another Sony TV I have that has number buttons, and it didn't work, because it's a Bluetooth remote I think.
I used this remote [amazon.com] from Amazon and it worked well for this purpose.

With the deal you got, I'd consider getting the Best Buy warranty on the TV. I also opted for Best Buy plus since 50 dollars gave me a 60 day return window + 50 dollar gift certificate at the time

I got an open box A80K a couple months ago and went with the warranty for peace of mind. Sony TVs are fricking awesome, you should be very satisfied with it to say the least

Is there any issue with returning an open box item to a different Best Buy location from where you picked it up. The TV is at a Best Buy 45 minutes away. If I can return to my local store, I'd feel a little better about the whole process.
Yes you can

It looks like a 5 year warranty for this tv would be $299.99, which isn't that bad.

If Geek Squad covers open box like they do brand new, I'd feel a lot better about it even if there were some small issues.

I bought a 77" A80K for $936 and I did the 5 yr geek squad warranty on it. I think it was $220. There's no difference on the warranty, same coverage. I tend to buy new TVs every few years but my reasoning here is that I will keep this OLED for at least 5, even if I upgrade, it will just get cycled into the bedroom to replace something older

S90C has newer tech, ie QD-OLED panels. G3 also has newer tech called MLA. Both tech give more brightness, which is the one the things OLEDS were not competing against LED TVs. Because of the backlight that LED TVs use they can get brighter, but that same backlight causes them not to have very dark blacks like OLEDs can. With MLA and QD-OLED the OLED TVs shorten that gap in brightness between both techs. The A95K has last year's tech and doesn't include this.

Sony also released a new version of their XR Clear image processing this year in their A95L, with a better SOC. The A95K has XR Clear too but is the old version.

If you have the time to wait for a TV and money to spend I would either wait for the A95L from Sony to get down in price or get the G3. Specially if you are planning to keep this TV for a long time.

If you need a TV right away and money is a factor then go with this one or the S90C.

Is there anyway to check how many hours that TV has been ON?

Mine got canceled.
Too bad. I like that copper field location for open box items. I got a MacBook Pro there that was "fair". I couldn't see any signs of use.

Unfortunately, Best Buy changed the way open box TV's are graded, a year or so ago. It goes off the condition of the TV now. Excellent can mean it's missing all the accessories, as long as the physical condition of the TV isn't terrible. Of course, they've never changed that on their website, so you'd never know lol.

But just because a TV is fair/good, it doesn't automatically mean it's a floor model or a dud. Some stores/managers just want these "old" TV's gone, so they'll mark perfectly fine TV's as a lower tier, so they can get rid of them

Just so everyone is clear that reads your comment, I want to point out that the A95K is QD-OLED as well. Though it does have the same first gen panel as the S95B and early models of the S90C. But you're correct on everything else
