I own these and use them in the office they are excellent because they can fold up so perfect for travel. If you aren't on the go then I'd say check out the Bang and O headphones for 170 on woot.

I think these are 2023 version, the $180 ones were 2021. SC is soft case (that's what both versions have at Costco)

The Bowers and Wilkins Px7 S2 for 10 bucks more is a better deal.

Besides the soft case, SC, which I thought the Q45's came with at Costco, what's the differences between the new SE and older SC?
There is some wind noisw cancellation feature. That's it

PX7S2 comes with a hard case and has better audio (in my opinion) and it's only $10 more.
I bought the B&W from Costco. I am mixed. The sounds seems to be a little unbalanced. Too much bass sometimes. Also seems a little heavy too. My friend bought Sony xm5 and they seem to have better performance.

I have the Bose QC 35 ii since 2019 and just got the latest QC yesterday for an upcoming trip. The most notable changes on the 2023 QC are USB C charging, aware mode, custom level of NC, wind block, and a built in wired mic.

A big advantage IMO is the newer Bose headphones connect using the Bose Music app, just like my soundbar. The older QC 35 ii is limited to a separate Bose Connect app (which is feature limited in comparison). You get an equalizer and no it's nothing fancy but is good enough for the average listener. Set bass to +10, play the same songs and switch between both headphones. There IS a difference with the EQ.

Whether or not these are upgrades to you is debatable, especially if you have the more recent QC45. The SC , soft case? version at Costco was not a problem for me because I can just re-use the hard case of my QC35 ii. Both Bose and Costco have a generous return period, so no harm in trying it out. Hope this helps someone!

How is the comfort. Went from qc35ii to the new ultras, and they were not comfortable at all compared to the 35ii

Difference between QC45 and Costco QC SE is only hard case vs soft case.

Bose recently removed the numbers so the latest version of their head phones are just QC and QC Ultra.

This $220 Costco QC SC version should be the latest QC but with soft case.

I received my $180 Costco QC SE. Overall very happy with it at that price point. The soft case vs hardcase should be no more than $20 price spread (meaning I would be paying at most $20 higher for a hardcase). I am perfectly happy with the soft case.

You can Google and find the reviews between the older QC45 vs newer QC vs newer QC Ultra.

Bose is selling QC at $250 on their website. I recommend to go with Costco.

This or the B&W from Costco that I got earlier this week? Saw a vote for B&W but curious of more opinions

I can't speak to the qc45s. I do have the Sony xm5 and have been very pleased with them. Soundguys always does a top notch review comparison. Here's the link

You're not an audiophile because the sound quality on the B&W is better. Every serious audio listener noted this when comparing both. That said, the XM5 is still good, just not better performing than B&W unless you mean the ANC.

The B&W has the best sound quality when compared to the XM5 and Bose. Not even a question. The build quality is much better as well, it actually feels luxurious and not plasticky

This is a nice comparison btw b&w and xm5
https://youtu.be/-7EustHpOBc?feature=shared

I have the xm5, I like the ANC in gym as well it's better performing in outdoor during phone calls. So it's very useful to me during work meetings. Oh I like how Sony has a sensitive ear cup to pause, play the next song or reduce volume etc where I don't have to touch a button to do that. also Sony pause or play when you take them off your head with ear detection, and I can customize the Sony to turn off ANC and pause when I'm talking with someone without having to take off the head.

However, B&W has better sound quality interms of tone, transparency, and soundstage. I do like their hard case but not their design.

So I just picked up a pair of the B&W from Costco and I nearly shed a tear. To keep it simple, I just could not believe how amazing they sounded… but that would not have been enough. The icing on the cake was the larger space to fit my big ears with their larger ear cup holes and angled drivers. I just stared at them and thought, how have I not seen this on every other headphone ever made?! And the head clamping isn't too tight which is an issue with other headphones for me. And to everyone else's point, they even smelled good when i opened the package, like a fine leather. No idea about the Bose but I can give a resounding yes to B&W.
