This deal typically goes FP, and SD will replace the OP with their own template, which has less information. This leads to questions that have actually already been answered. Therefore posting the deal again as the first comment for ease of reference:

FYI Target is once again offering a free $10 Target gift card when you spend at least $100 on Apple gift cards online or in stores. The deal is valid 12/10 thru 12/16 according to page 10 of the weekly ad preview: https://weeklyad.target.com/promo...10&page=10 Ad typically indicates limit of 1 per guest, but YMMV in stores.

RedCard holders can save an additional $4.50. The discount is not equal to 5% ($5) because Target assigns a $10 charge to the "free" gift card and $90 for the remaining balance owed. Therefore RedCard 5% is based on $90 so the discount equals $4.50.

P.S. Apple has a limit of $2000 (*I believe*) to be saved to your Apple Account Balance + an additional 4 gift cards during checkout when using the Apple Store app, but the website checkout still allows 8. An individual gift card can also not exceed $2000.

As of iOS 15, you can add your Apple Account Balance as a card in the Wallet app. This helps to prevent some technical errors when shopping online, and allows for easier shopping when in a store.

My son received a $50 Target gift card as a gift. When he went to use it there were no funds.

I called target, they asked me for a picture of the front and back of the card and before the call was over they indicated they would replace the card. He received it in the mail about a week later.

It's good to know about the scams out there, and I have no idea if this issue was related to the particular scam linked above, but I wanted to let you all know how easily and satisfactorily Target resolved our issue.

I would jump on this deal without hesitation if I hadn't already claimed three previously when the Target gift card was $15. Also, these are electronic gift cards so not likely involved in the scam referenced above...

Thanks for your post and info. Just to be clear, the deal will be available for online purchase and in-store too.

When did your son have his problem that Target was so quick to fix?

On Black Friday. He was trying to use it to buy something Lego and found no funds. Of course I bought it for him! Received the replacement gift card in the mail earlier this week.

I misread your previous post. I was thinking you had said Target replaced a $50 Apple gift card you had purchased from them, not a Target $50. Those are definitely different situations.

Yeah, for sure.

I was just relaying my favorable experience with Target relevant to gift card issues.

Understood. Obviously it's much easier for them to help with their own gift cards vs. a third party. Glad your situation worked out.

Every year for the past 10 years, the police and everyone else have been pretending like this is a new crime. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

I don't shop in stores so not only do I not need a physical gc to buy, i don't need one to spend. it's all egc.

Hoping someone can help me clarify this problem I'm running into. I bought one $100 GC and will likely get another during this deal, but I'm looking to use them to pay for AppleCare on new iPhone devices before the two months window passes to activate it. I tried to go through the payment process for the two full years (vs monthly higher price) and it doesn't give me an option to pay with GC or my Apple account balance. Googling this issue it seems that some people in the past have been able to pay for the 2 year price of Applecare with GCs or Apple balance by going into a physical Apple Store and explaining the issue. Could any SD users please verify this works? and should I redeem the gift cards and put them on my Apple account beforehand? Or just walk in with digital gift cards. I really don't know what to do, but I'd like to figure it out so my family and I can take full advantage of these discounts. I live really far away from any Apple locations so I really apprecaite any help!

I've seen some people just say put it on monthly payments so it'll automatically take it out of your balance, but that ruins the savings you get for paying for the full 2 years upfront. I'm just trying to get this right so I can repeat the process smoothly for my family too. <3

Crazy question, but can these be used on a iTunes account to buy app purchases, etc?

FYI, only quick fix if it's "target gc" because I went back and forth with target with "in store purchased apple GC". Target doesn't take any responsibility other than "target gc". Other gift cards are "3rd party". I would strongly suggest to grab it online and don't purchase in store

Yea, I'm aware. I originally misread the other commenter's story, which why I had responded because I was surprised (based on my misreading).
