Why would anyone buy this? Just get a basic set of plates that you could use with other equipment and a get curl bar. It's way cheaper and versatile

For everyone with out of stock local Acadamy stores, just took 10 min on the phone with Dicks sporting goods and they price matched it without question. Picking it up later today.

I just got off the phone with a rep at Dicks. I gave them the zip code for the store someone mentioned earlier, and since it's within a few hours of me I think that was fine. They let me place the order for pickup at my local store. 77357 is the zip if you want to give it a shot. Good luck!

I was able to talk with Dick's just now and price match it as well. Used a TX zip code 77357 even though I'm in Utah and he price matched it. Even in Academy it was showing out of stock for that zip but he honored it

How did you get the price to show up on Academy's site with it being out of stock..? Price is only shown in cart, can't add to cart because it's OOS.

I am guessing the internal people at Dicks looking up the price have a different system than what we see on the website connected to thier competitors current pricing (think something like brickseek). In my case the person never even asked for a zip code or anything, he just confirmed the store where I want to pick it up. The nearest Academy in stock location to me is 900 miles and 3 states away, but that never even came up.

Agree, especially with foundational barbell exercises like deadlifts, squats, and chest presses, the average woman would likely outgrow this 80lb limit in a matter of weeks. The only benefit I can see is the speed advantage, particularly if you're following some kind of a video workout program like P90x and don't want to pause.

A better investment would be the $160 Walmart bumper set paired with an affordable Olympic bar.

Any advice on getting Dick's to price match? I called and the rep had to bump to supervisor based on amount discounted. Denied as I live on West coast and no academy sports near me.

You guys got really lucky with Dicks reps… they just told me out of stock, they won't price match.
