About this Game:
The Dark Pictures Anthology is a series of standalone, cinematic branching horror games where the decisions you make in the game determine the story you receive. House of Ashes is the third game in the series.
Navigate a subterranean labyrinth and escape the starving creatures that found their new prey to hunt.
Will you prioritize your own survival, or will you put aside your fears and personal rivalries to fight together as one?
Iraq, 2003. As the conflict draws to a close, CIA field operative Rachel King joins an elite military unit on a raid of a suspected underground chemical weapons facility in the shadow of the Zagros Mountains. Arriving at the coordinates, the unit is ambushed by a local patrol led by Sergeant Salim Othman. During the battle, an earthquake opens sinkholes in the ground, pitching both sides into the ruins of a buried Sumerian temple. In the darkness beneath the Arabian Desert, something evil is awakened.

This is the best Dark Pictures game. Easily worth $10 or $12. There's a free PS5 upgrade with the PS4 version.
may not be the best Action game but man these Dark Pictures games sure know how to set the immersion level to a full 10 out of 10 with the sound, lighting and musical score.
Isn't that why we all play video games ??? to escape reality. This world has gone mad and we all need time to relax , enjoy and for the love of all things we just need to remember how short life is and appreciate waking up.

I've never heard of this series before, looks like Until Dawn/The Quarry type play?
Yes! This is a part of a series/season (The Dark Pictures Anthology). There are 4 or 5 Dark Pictures games and they play very much like Until Dawn and The Quarry.
Word of advice, skip Little Hope if you give these games a try.

Story based, almost point n click with the occasional timed button press?
Only played single player, how would multiplayer work??
Beat me to it. A little bit of a slow burn, but once it picks up it's good.

There is local where you and whomever is with you picks characters and you pass the controller between scenes.
Same thing if you play online, but I don't know if everyone needs to have purchased the game. I've only played locally.
Man of Medan was the first game in the series.
