In my opinion, no. They look like they're gasless (flux core only) and 110/115/120V. The difference between those and a MIG (gas) 220/230/240V setup is *enormous*.

I've been using a Drico 150D MIG from Amazon since 2016. It's a 150A 220V unit. I've built front and rear bumpers, carts, done automotive sheet metal work, all kinds of stuff. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be available anymore, but it shows that a Chinese MIG can be reliable.

I had an AHP TIG, too. It died one month after the warranty expired. The cost of shipping it for repairs would be half the cost of a brand new one, plus the repairs, which I believe were only warranted for 30 days. I replaced it with an Andeli TIG off of Alibaba and it's been working great. It's not worth paying the markup to an American reseller of Chinese welders, in my opinion. Just go to the source, save money, and plan to buy another if it fails. Plus, it's been my experience that the Chinese sellers will at least attempt to troubleshoot problems, and they'll provide schematics. The American resellers just give extremely basic tests and then say you need to ship it back and pay for repair, and they omit schematics from the manual, probably to hide the fact that there are a handful of Chinese welder designs repackaged into countless brands.

Yes, times change. But, this is still the best hardware shop out there for folks like me. Can't complain.

Your welder depends on the welding requirement. My suggestion would be to take a local community college welding class and learn by doing. Then decide what your needs require and don't buy it from HF or YES, but that's just me.

Harbor Freight Recalls Replacement Pittsburgh Jack Stands

The company recalled their three- and six-ton jack stands in May and is now recalling the three-ton jack stands that were replacements for the original recall.

Cause a recall three years ago is relevant to anything?

I was in the market for an aluminum jack and this is the lowest I've ever seen it, so if it's the jack for you, go for it. I ended up getting a 3 ton, less for the capacity as for the max height, as this one doesn't go high enough for my needs. And not a HF, but a Husky, from HD, still on sale for $160. Much heavier but still manageable and appears to be very well built. I've heard that this one isn't necessarily that great, but for occasional use it should be ok.

looks like its one day only for whatever deal is running. I went ahead and just opted for shipping since I can't make it to a HF today. 6.99 shipping is not bad for a heavy jack.

You're not lifting the whole car.. you're usually only shifting weight off of 1/4 of the car..
1.5 ton is good 95% of the time. Plus it'll be lighter to move around than a big heavy jack that is overkill.. I love these small jacks... taking up less space in the vehicle and easier to load/use/move around.

My steel floor jack works fine in the garage but it's a bit of a pain when I need to haul it somewhere. I'm in for this aluminum one at only $60ish, even if it's not top of the line, its a great price

Whatever your local community college charges, plus maybe a lab fee for materials/equipment.

These are the best. Have one for my 2ton Tesla 3. Use it all the time adjusting my suspension and swapping rims. Thanks OP. Got another one!

I'm not surprised being the ratchet type jack stands. Poke around on AMZ and you'll find ones with cracks in the main center support. I'll only go with PIN style jack stands, and only ones that are overkill weight-wise for the work I plan on doing.
