Pass. QC issues (mostly cracking fretboards) have been rampant in recent years, and Ola's response is largely to ignore it.

Those who I know who have had issues resolved by Solar had to voice their issues long and loud, sometimes publicly before Solar would handle/address. CNC'ed Indo guitars. Great guitars, however overpriced.

This is likely an attempt to clear out '21-'23 Series 2 guitars that weren't otherwise going to move.

Ola is like Rob Chapman. Everybody's buddy if they are selling you something. They go where the fresh money is, and those early adopters mostly get the shaft unless they go to great lengths.

Seen it personally more than once. Not worth the hassle.

I meet those requirements. Also, these sale ones are made in Indonesia.

I'd love someone to show up with one of the really pointy ones at their next honky tonk gig.

I guess this was the reason their site was down for like the past week Laugh

As someone said above do be wary of QC issues. For whatever reason some Solars have issues with cracked fretboards, specifically ebony. Maybe has to do with the sharp-lookin 12th fret inlay design or poor humidity control? Either way it's a bummer to deal with.

Solar is also by far the biggest adopter of Evertune bridges and there's a LOT of them here as well. I've already posted my comments about Evertune in another thread, I like them a lot but they can be polarizing. You may love them or hate them.

Nocturno Culto approved...but seriously that's some bad PR if QC sucks. Here's hoping to see ESP LTD black metal go BOGO

I've bought two, just got a t2.6 from their black Friday sales and the guitar is immaculate. Bought an s1.6 a few years back, has zero issues.

All of the reported issues were during the pandemic which have been sorted out since, but it seems like the company will never live that down. Every other guitar company has QC issues(god the amount of Epiphone we had to send back when I was working at a guitar shop 10+ years ago was insane) but no one craps on them like they do Solar. Maybe it's because Ola is an Internet personality?

The features and price point are unbeatable. Neck through body and stainless steel frets for under 1300? Nobody does that

Wrong.

Wrong.

Epiphone crapping is a far larger sport than Ola-crapping.

No, it's because he lets sub-par instruments with improperly treated wood go out to his gullible followers and only actually addresses the issues brought to his attention when it is done so loudly and with persistence.

Source: Seen it many, many times over the years in Ola's very own Discord server. Finally left when I saw how he was addressing (or shall we say not addressing) these issues and watching good friends be out ~1k per instance.

I'm glad your three you have are great. However, plenty have not been, and saying that all the issues were during the pandemic is being willfully obtuse.

Just check out the Solar Guitars FB page, still plenty of cracked fretboards, necks splitting down the back, you name it.

I'm glad you like your Solar guitars. I really am.

Still doesn't change the fact that there were/are still a bunch of really disappointed Ola fans/Ex-Ola fans that (still) won't spend a dime with Solar, and I can't say as I blame them.

Good luck. May your fretboards never crack, and if they do, may you get some satisfaction, as many have not.
