I prefer the older internal combustion guitars, thank you very much.
Pass. QC issues (mostly cracking fretboards) have been rampant in recent years, and Ola's response is largely to ignore it.

Those who I know who have had issues resolved by Solar had to voice their issues long and loud, sometimes publicly before Solar would handle/address. CNC'ed Indo guitars. Great guitars, however overpriced.

This is likely an attempt to clear out '21-'23 Series 2 guitars that weren't otherwise going to move.

Ola is like Rob Chapman. Everybody's buddy if they are selling you something. They go where the fresh money is, and those early adopters mostly get the shaft unless they go to great lengths.

Seen it personally more than once. Not worth the hassle.
Will it Chug?

The features and price point are unbeatable. Neck through body and stainless steel frets for under 1300? Nobody does that
I get the point trying to be made here but ESP and Schecter regularly do that. Not only that but the guitars they put out are of impeccable quality, especially for imports.

Like right now you can get an E-1 SLS Elite for $999 [sweetwater.com]. The LTD Phoenix-1000 [sweetwater.com] is also neck-thru w/ SS frets and costs $1199 w/o sale.

EDIT: And dare I forget the Yamaha Revstar Standard [sweetwater.com] (it's a set neck, but pretty close nonetheless)

Comparing Ola to Chapman is abit harsh on Ola. Chapman is a vindictive c**t. Ola has his faults but nowhere near as the chubby guy.

I just ordered a Solar E1.6 a month ago. I would have loved to get a free guitar with that.
The E1.6Vinter is great so far.

What about Evertunes? That Yamaha is probably built in the same factory as the Solars as well..

Wrong.

Wrong.

Epiphone crapping is a far larger sport than Ola-crapping.

No, it's because he lets sub-par instruments with improperly treated wood go out to his gullible followers and only actually addresses the issues brought to his attention when it is done so loudly and with persistence.

Source: Seen it many, many times over the years in Ola's very own Discord server. Finally left when I saw how he was addressing (or shall we say not addressing) these issues and watching good friends be out ~1k per instance.

I'm glad your three you have are great. However, plenty have not been, and saying that all the issues were during the pandemic is being willfully obtuse.

Just check out the Solar Guitars FB page, still plenty of cracked fretboards, necks splitting down the back, you name it.

I'm glad you like your Solar guitars. I really am.

Still doesn't change the fact that there were/are still a bunch of really disappointed Ola fans/Ex-Ola fans that (still) won't spend a dime with Solar, and I can't say as I blame them.

Good luck. May your fretboards never crack, and if they do, may you get some satisfaction, as many have not.
If you don't like Ola & Solar so much, why do you follow all of there socials & track QC issues? How many positive reviews are you omitting. I also follow some of Ola's socials and the QC issues you're referring to are very spares in relation to the positive feedback…

ESP LTD has plenty of Evertune options [sweetwater.com] factory installed and starting at $1299. There's also a MH-1000 EverTune here [reverb.com] for $1050 if you watch the item and/or call/email Guitars to be Played to order nod

The Cort KX700 Evertune is also an Evertune with SS frets and it's on sale for $799. Bolt-on neck but otherwise amazing features for that price.

While I agree they have plenty of options. You're talking $1,400+. In comparison to the same features, a lot of the same factories, & half the price when you consider the BOGO deal with Solar.

Oh, come on. I don't think your comparison's fair if you're comparing ESP LTD's non-sale prices to Solar's BOGO deals. EC-1000 Evertunes [sweetwater.com] start at $1299. You can knock 10-15% or more calling the right dealer. I've already mentioned you can get an MH-1000 Evertune for $1050 shipped and a KX700 Evertune for $799 and you don't even have to get a second lower-tier guitar like you have to here.

Solar's clearing out inventory, that's why they're doing this. But a BOGO sale by its very nature has a high buy-in cost. I personally don't care for the Series 2 guitars. I'd rather they just sell their Series 1 guitars at 30-40% off like other mfrs/dealers are doing.

I've no dog in this hunt, but Solar is apparently bringing out an entry level line (maybe called "S" but maybe I'm making that up). If so, getting 2 Series guitars out of the way is likely part of that plan.

Nah you heard right. S by Solar's supposed to be their budget-friendly lineup of guitars. It's a cool idea, but Xander Raymond Charles got one recently [youtube.com] and wasn't too happy with the quality of his (cracked finish near neck heel, bad tuning stability). A Tagima would've been better IMO.

You're arguing against buying a deal with the full cost guitars? Also, you're claiming solar is a lower quality but, offered alternatives built in the same exact factory with compatible specs. Why would these have better build quality at a lower price point by the same luthiers?

You're not arguing in good faith.

I have never said Solar guitars were lower quality. I have also never said they were made in the same factory. As far as I know, serials from ESP LTD starting with IW and Schecter's MII guitars are made in the same Indonesian facilities. I don't know where Solar makes their MII guitars, but I do know there have been stories of fretboard cracks from guitar forums and Reddit which is at least telling their QC could be better.

I don't own a Solar, I don't love them nor do I hate them. I just don't think they're that great. It's my personal opinion. If you like them, good for you.

EDIT: amended my comment, it may not be Cort as someone else mentioned

I'm not necessarily arguing one way or the other.I don't own a solar either but, I know a lot of people who do. I'm waiting for a mod shop 335 with a purple finish under $10,000 or a SG 61 with a purple finish under $5,000.

I'm just replying to your comments suggesting ESP or Cort at full price over the BOGO deal and the skewed information. I just want other potentially less informed people have more of the facts.

All of your replies have been a suggestion for ESP or Cort over this deal Some are built in Korea & some in Indonesia. There are 2 main factories in indonisea. They're both Korean owned / expansions. Cor-Tek & Symsomething something.

Cort [wikipedia.org] is literally Cor-Tek's house brand. If Solar contracts them to make their guitars, then there's your answer. Something definitely went wrong with the way they stored or QC'ed these guitars for it to be a story in multiple places.

Full price??? A Cort KX700 Evertune is $799 [reverb.com]!! And there are plenty of deals to be had, I never suggested buying anything at full price. I mean, look at my deal history for Christ's sake.

Cort [wikipedia.org] is literally Cor-Tek's house brand. If Solar contracts them to make their guitars, then there's your answer.

Holy batman Facepalm

EDIT: And why would you even mention that bit about the mod shop 335? "I'm searching for an expensive guitar, my argument is more valid"? Like okay???
I don't know why you're so upset. I'm just trying to help people. Not sure why you want to mislead them so much…

Edit: by your own admission you don't own or have first hand experience with Solar. You're stating your "opinion" you literally said it's your opinion that they're lesser quality. You're suggesting Cort & LTD as if they're better even if they are made in the same place, by the same people, with the same materials… I'm just providing facts as opposed to opinions.

Yes, I'm waiting for high end guitars. I have over 100 guitars. I was simply pointing out I couldn't care less for a Cort or LTD made in Indo or Korea. Also, hopeful someone has a sexy 335 for me less than 10K. I'm currently on a boutique amp kick. Trying to buy all the Larry's I can find.
