Those who I know who have had issues resolved by Solar had to voice their issues long and loud, sometimes publicly before Solar would handle/address. CNC'ed Indo guitars. Great guitars, however overpriced.
This is likely an attempt to clear out '21-'23 Series 2 guitars that weren't otherwise going to move.
Ola is like Rob Chapman. Everybody's buddy if they are selling you something. They go where the fresh money is, and those early adopters mostly get the shaft unless they go to great lengths.
Seen it personally more than once. Not worth the hassle.

I used to. I was pretty actively involved in the community for quite some time, and after seeing behind the curtain on a few occasions, my original assessment still stands. Pass.
Also, the other poster's point also stands about LTD. The QC on LTD is miles above Solar on every level. They also stand behind their product by default. There are far better places to spend ~1k with not only far less potential for issues, but knowing when they do occur that you will actually be taken care of without having to shout from the rooftops in order to get them to move on anything.
You are still minimizing the amount of issues that still persist.
Still plenty of cracked fretboards, necks splitting, still delivering product made with improperly seasoned and treated wood, the works.
Again - Hard pass.
I also get the feeling that since their model is to always go with the new money/fresh sale, it also leaves their core fans/early supporters hung out to dry after spending thousands of dollars with their company. Not a good look. I've no use for either, nor their companies.
If you have a good Solar, enjoy it.
If not, know that there are far better companies with far better product to spend your money on.

Fair enough. Chapman is on another level, but the 'Aw shucks, Mr. Nice Guy, Everybody's Buddy' persona both of them cultivate while their actions in private completely contradict that is cut of a similar cloth. It seems disingenuous at best.

However, I just truly don't understand the thought that they have a different QC process or manufacturing process. If a solar with the same exact materials is built by the same exact people and QC'd by the same people who build Cort, LTD, Yamaha, PRS, etc… why would it be more prone to issues then any other brand / guitar to leave the factory?
Are you simply suggesting they do less stringent QC when the guitars ship out from the factory? So, PRS, Yamaha, LTD, Cort, Squier, etc… all send back a significant amount of instruments for defects? I would imagine they follow the same DMAIC process for lean operation across the board.

Although I don't care for the 'making stuff up' accusation, but I also honestly don't care if you believe me or my own personal experiences with the person, the company, the community.
There is no need to be 'making stuff up' when I was there and know what was commonplace, how many disappointed people there were, and how poorly it was handled.
On to your 'clever' queries:
Depends on your version of 'recently'. No, I don't follow the company's every move up to the minute anymore, but a sample search like https://www.facebook.co
That doesn't mean all prior QC issues have gone away... but at least it appears they are getting better in recent months.
I watched them struggle and fumble for two years, hoping Ola would do more than 'aw shucks' the problem and finally replace guitars when his feet were held to the fire.
After seeing how his first supporters and advocates were the ones being burned when he was getting off the ground was enough for me. Is their QC better today? One would certainly hope so.
I'm just relaying my own experiences. It's not some nefarious plot against your hero.
I also think people misunderstand the QC process. There is in-house QC, and there is the final stage when the client inspects the final product and clears it for release. Just because two companies are made in the same factory does not mean they have an identical process the entire way, especially when it comes to QC.
Example: Factory turns out a dud. Internal QC misses (it happens), client never inspects (or does so poorly), guitar goes out. Other option: client inspects, finds the issue, guitar never leaves the factory.
People are human and make mistakes. Companies have issues. It's how you handle them that matters.
Also: If all guitars made in the same factory have the same process, QC, etc,(which has been touted loudly in this thread - construction yes, QC, no), then why was Solar the only brand known far and wide for delivering improperly treated wood and cracking boards during that time period where it seemed like issues were commonplace? Oh, that's right. Their QC process must be different somehow.
I can't remember other manufacturers (made in the same factory) having anywhere near as many problems with simply delivering a product that didn't split within a few months time because of improperly treated wood.
Is Solar better than it used to be? I certainly hope so. It wouldn't be too difficult. Just stop selling poor quality instruments to unsuspecting fans.
If people want to gamble on a purchase of ~1k, so be it. If you want to proclaim Solar as a wise purchase after a small period of stability, so be it.
As for me, as I've said before - Pass. The amount of issues are way too numerous and way too recent for an investment of ~1k+.

I've sent 2 Gibson custom shops back this year. I've sent 6 SE's back 2-3 years ago. I've sent back Fender USA's. I've sent back a Caparison Dellinger. Everyone can and will have issues at some point. You're building something with wood & metal and shipping it all over the world.
I'm very aware Solar has a second QC in Spain. Just like SE's are QC'd in Maryland? I forget I don't buy those anymore. I'm sure this is a much more stripped down final check. Whether they can predict the future and say in 6 months fretboards on guitars A, B, and C will crack is beyond me…
https://forums.prsguita
4 pages of issues with SE's in the past 2 months… same factory… but you're right, you're better off getting the SE because it's got better QC than the solar… no one else has QC problems out of the same factory…
EDIT: typed WC instead of QC.

I don't own a Solar. I've actually been very critical of their fretboard issues and Ola's nonchalant approach and completely ignoring it. As far as personal interactions, I haven't read anyone complain about Ola. He's an introvert who forced himself out of it to build a business. That's why he still comes off awkward despite years on YT.
ESP LTD is a much better built instrument for sometimes less than Solar. Also used Prestiges can go for less than new Solars.
