For anyone who would like to remove the permissions you granted for this deal, go here: https://myaccount.google.com/connections

Then, look for an entry called "gweb-play-points-app"

You can remove the permissions by clicking on the entry, then at the bottom you click on "Delete all connections you have with gweb-play-points-app"

Ok, I chatted with support and rep said that the 40% off requires you to be at gold level for at least 10 days before it will work. This promo is good until 12/31. The trade-in values and current google store discounts are supposed to remain the same until 12/31 so I guess you can wait 10 days and get this deal without losing on any current deals.

You can also have a Google One subscription, that gives you gold. However, I am not seeing anything in my perks besides for the weekly free points.

Edit edit: Firebase is owned by Google, so it is in the same eco-system. Still a strange way to offer a deal with the account access, but this deal is through Google, or at least an owned subsidiary.

Edit: this is not through Google, if you click on the link and select redeem it wants to provide access to a domain called firebaseapp.com, which according to ICANN isn't Google owned, just hosted.

Thanks op! No idea what happened but it applied 40% off an order for a pixel 8. I too am one of the gold members that earns it solely by doing weekly check ins, and also have the lowest level of Google 1. Hopefully that website doesn't steal my data, but at this point I figure pretty much everyone else has it anyway! 😂
