I've got the $3 coupon.

And after using the $3 coupon, it then offered the 20% off first S&S.

Is the downy tide recommended for washing towels? Been using the HE 10x tide and the towels come out very rough!

Got 4/36$ I've seen liquid for less, but this is a good deal for Tide. I got Free and Gentle which isn't easy to find. I use it for my underwear. car care products and items my pet sleeps on.

I would assume not, with towels you want the absorbency for drying as they're made for it. With even a little fabric softener, the towel's texture is different and will be iffy for a few washes until out.
Vinegar can get it off, but also degrades fabrics and can cause coloring issues. I just use a drop of Dawn dish soap in the wash and use a hot wash. That can get the original texture back.
