Does anyone have a recommendation for adjustable Dumbbells that go up to 100lbs or closer? 52.5 won't cut it anymore.
I got the powerblocks that go to 90. I like them a lot but got them off Fb marketplace. New they are a good chunk of change.

That 1 star review where a plate fell on their face during use. That's gonna be a hard pass.
Likely user error

I have used Bowflex adjustable dumbells before and now have the FitRx. The Bowflex are definitely higher quality but also cost much more. With the FitRx you often have to fiddle a little before the weight can be adjusted but to me it's acceptable.

These sort of dumbbells have their limitations. You sacrifice universal usability/functionality for convenience and space saving. I wouldn't put anything like this over my head unless I fully understood the mechanism that holds the plates, and was familiar enough to deduce whether or not it is a wise move. I don't crawl under a vehicle with cheap ass jack stands either, but they're good enough to change some brake pads or a tire. Just know and understand the equipment you use, and you'll better your odds.

As stated the last time these made the frontpage "The 1,2,3 and 4 star reviews combined total less than a third of the 5 star reviews"

One of the plates cannot fall on your face even if it would break loose from the handle unless you are holding the dumbbells in what I would call an upside-down position. Meaning, you grab the dumbbell out of the cradle. Set it on the ground. Then flip it over (180-degree rotation) and pick it up. So, it could be considered user error.

If you do ever hold one of these dumbbells, you would see that plates falling on your face would actually require you to make it possible for that to happen. This is cheaper than last time during Blackfriday. I am going to return that and reorder. Walmart apparently does not refund the difference
I got it for Black Friday too. Thought about it but figured it's not worth the time.

The changes of that happening are very low especially if you are not holding them upside down. They are very sturdy. I used to use the ones by Bowflex and these seems just as good. This is an amazing deal. I got it on Black Friday when it was $250 and it was definitely worth the money. I used them everyday.

Depends on the budget. You can take a look at the snode AD80s. They go up to 80 lbs and are durable enough to be droppable but they are close to $1000.

There is also the nuobell, which also go up to 80. Those are similarly priced as the snodes.

I actually bought a pair of the fitrx 52.5s at Walmart for $180 shipped a few weeks ago but immediately returned them when I saw someone selling like new snodes locally for $500. I'd suggest to check your local listings.
