UPDATE (Dec 13):
It seems that they might not be doing the daily free games as expected, as the next free game is available in 7 days from the Dec 13 one (available on Wed, Dec 20). Based on the following information, they say there will be 17 free games available during the Epic Games Store Holiday Sale.
On this Epic Games Store Holiday Sale page [epicgames.com], it states the following in different places on the page:

It appears that Epic Games [epicgames.com] may start another year of daily free mystery games for approximately 15 days in the latter half of December. The first free mystery game will be revealed on Wednesday, December 13 (11am ET, 10am CT, 9am MT, 8am PT).
These are usually only available for 24 hours, so set a reminder so you don't miss them. In the past, this ran from Dec 15-29 in 2022 and from Dec 16-30 in 2021.
Note that this is unconfirmed but is expected based on prior years and the fact that the next free game is a wrapped mystery game that starts on a Wednesday instead of the normal Thursday. There are also articles out there talking about it. If you normally check on Thursdays, you'll miss the first one.

I remember Bloons TD6 being one that I didn't scoop up, and later bought on Steam, and then later later Epic had it for free again haha

Did you claim the free base game first?
Yeah uhhh...if you click search in the Epic shop and type in Destiny 2, it's free as well bro. Do that first and you can redeem the dlc.

By all means, download it and have fun. Just don't get sucked in! I have... A lot of hours in, playing the first and second games. You will find that to do everything in Destiny generally requires full-time job levels of commitment. It's that big, and they can be that unforgiving with the grind for top tier gear.
Note that while the sale on the Legacy Collection ends in 2 days, you still get to keep the expansions.
