I bought this a few day ago, seems like a great price but have read mixed reviews online for the unit. With Costco return policy I t's an easy gamble. I've been watching YouTube videos on how to tailor your own clothes and at the end of the day, I'm still a strong believer that a man should be self sufficient in most aspects of his life. So, I'm excited to play around with making my shirts fit properly!
Heavy Duty claim is laughable. It is full of plastic gears.

This is a very good deal. Bought a similar model for $200 couple months back. Heavy duty enough to sew tote bags and replace zippers on my back pack. the frame is metal so it doesn't bounce around like my older plastic frame machines. Pretty solid for basic to medium use....

During the pandemic days, these things were so hard to purchase at a just price.

I borrowed this model from a neighbor in 2018. it's heavy but not heavy duty as in can handle thick fabric. it's also very loud. someone gave me an older Husqvarna i like it much much better than new consumer grade Singer.

Been wanting to get into sewing but there is just so much out there I couldn't figure out what to look for. Ended up getting a Brother CS5055 for a little bit less than this. For anyone in the know, how would it compare?

Is this good enough for leather? Probably looking to sew a bunch of leather guitar straps.

I have had this machine for 3 years and its great, does all of the basic feature but has a very powerful motor so you can easily do denim and leather with ease (with the right needle). ilove it.

I bought a brother lx3817g two weeks ago for $88. Is this worth the extra cost for the singer heavy duty?
