Even if this isn't a scam, we're a few weeks away from NVIDIA potentially announcing the new GPU refreshes. No point in pulling the trigger right now.

I'm not 100% certain this is wholly correct... NVIDIA is shifting to AI, and I would wager that their production of next generation video cards will be limited, as production capacity will be shifting more and more to their AI and server-level chips...

This article from a year ago points out that graphics cards are a diminishing revenue stream for NVIDIA: https://www.statista.com/chart/25...-segments/

The 5000 series aren't planned for release until 2025 sadly.

Only the top end chips are used for AI, the super refresh is for 4080 and 4070 class gpus. It'll be worth your wait to hang in for a few weeks especially given the 4070 ti replacement will have more vram.

Add a bit more for 4090. Best card out there.

Well, I'm not saying that they will 100% announce the Super Ti that the leaks have talked about, but it's only a few weeks, so it doesn't really hurt to wait and see (unless you're desperate for a GPU right now). Also, I highly doubt that NVIDIA will spurn their consumer GPU market. It's still a large portion of their revenue (like $10 billion). They can't afford to put all their eggs in a single basket (AI) as they're not the only vendor in that space. Also, part of the reason why their revenue in the gaming segment dropped is due to NVIDIA being super greedy and pricing their cards outrageously. $800 for a 12GB 4070 Ti was a real slap in the face to consumers. Which, I believe, is part of the reason they are probably doing super refreshes.

I wasn't talking about the 50-Series. The leaks say they are supposed to announce 4070 Super, 4070 Ti Super and 4080 Super in January.

The comment is referring to the 4070 Ti Super that is imminently coming out, not the 5000 series.
