9th has the older design with the front circle home button and fingerprint sensor. It is easier for some young kids to use. Also has headphone jack. Processor still plenty fast.

Thanks bud. The type C ports are worth the $100. Didn't know the iPads went that way also.

One additional note: This is a two year old model, so coming out of the box, you'll need to run an update. I expected this when I was setting it up, but after running the update, I got an error message when trying to connect it to a tv. After a few frustrating moments, I discovered a second update still needed to be run. After running that second update, it's connecting as expected.
