I got this on the last deal. It works for my needs, more content creation than gaming. It looked brand new despite being refurbished. The only negative I found so far is the laptop doesn't use the video card for external graphics. Only the built in screen gets the video card. Also, you have to have a displaypot dongle if you want output 4K at 60hz. Hdmi dongle will only do 30hz at 4K for external monitors.

Poor initial QC could be a huge reason that some brands (appear) to have so many like new refurbs. If true that sucks for the first purchaser and makes for a great deal for the one who buys the like new refurbished item at a hefty discount. Other brands refurbs on the other hand appear to be off off lease, heavily used, etc so you aren't getting even close to the same thing.

This looks like an incredible deal. The only thing that gnaws at me is the lack of dedicated Page Up/Page Down buttons on the keyboard.

I figured it out when looking into why I couldn't get more than 30hz on my monitor and why the graphics did not kick on when I had the monitor connected. There was a lot of discussion I found online about the graphics card not powering the external monitor and checking the manual confirmed that.

For the dongle, this only has USB C video out. So the USB C to Hdmi will give a max 30hz @ 4K but a USB C to DP can go up to 60hz.

Also, sometimes I have to tell the system which programs need to use the card. Games are automatically added, but resource heavy Adobe programs had to be added manually.

It has both integrated and discreet graphics. The external monitor uses integrated while the attached monitor uses the discreet graphics.

Nice deal. I've got my eye on the refurbished 16" version with the SD card reader, i9 and 4050 but it's still over $1000. Would ebay price match if I buy it now and it gets discounted in the next month?
