May I know how you figured the external display isn't outputting through the dedicated GPU? I personally didn't even know that was even possible, but I'm not in the know.
Secondly, what dongle did you mean? An HDMI to DP port converter? I ask because my specific use case is to use the DP port on my display, and that's non negotiable. I'd hate to see 4k@30Hz, instead of the theoretical 60Hz.

For the dongle, this only has USB C video out. So the USB C to Hdmi will give a max 30hz @ 4K but a USB C to DP can go up to 60hz.
Also, sometimes I have to tell the system which programs need to use the card. Games are automatically added, but resource heavy Adobe programs had to be added manually.
