These aren't going to be much, if any, different from your box meals that used dried potatoes in them.. think Betty Crocker Au Gratin ... your instant mash potatoes are nothing more than dehydrated potatoes with seasoning added in.

You can create soups, stews, and other meals... suitable for camping trips as well.
Potato chips are fried... not dehydrated.
Dumb question. Is this any good for "regular" eating? Most of this kind of stuff falls under the survival category. It has always been my understanding that you give up things like taste, quality, so forth, as a trade off for storage life.

So, can you actually eat this type of stuff and enjoy it? Does the stuff actually eat like a potato? Pardon my ignorance. Just want information before making a decision.

Should be good for making scalloped potatoes. Pour boiling water over the patoatoes and let them soak a few minutes. If you don't have an electric kettle, you should consider one. Sour cream, butter, cheese, green onion, black pepper, Cajun seasoning, and then play with the hot water added to get correct consistency. Bake until edges of potatoes start to brown.

My wife has turned into a food pepper the past couple of years, this will be a great Christmas surprise for her. šŸ˜ In for four cans. Fantastic price with the current inflation we're seeing.

It's not spicy. A food pepper would rather have some hot sauce.

Some of this company's products often arrive already manufactured from one year or more prior. They also may arrive dented due to warehouse Amazon storage. However, they are often at a good price point, and I own some myself. Great for emergencies. Not all freeze-dried food last 25 years, some only ten.

+1 on LOTR reference. Now if only Augason Farms made some version of Lembas ...

I have cans of Campbell's chick noodle soup older than 10 years. Its on my pantry shelf labeled zombie apocalypse.

In for 2. I'll stick these next to the butter powder, peanut butter powder (basically PB2), and banana chips that I'll likely never use.

Congrats. You're both right. Potato chips can be fried, baked, or dehydrated.

Baking and frying are still very different in regards to temperature, time, and air circulation compared to dehydrating.
