I purchased this and enjoyed it unfortunately right after the warranty expired it got the death thump, it would randomly thump like a heart beat. Hopefully they've fixed the issue since then. I've upgraded to the Klipsch 10in sub but the Jamo was very competent till it wasn't.

a frequency response spec without a +/- range is a meaningless number. this spec is by far the most abused in the industry. companies generally fall into 3 groups.

Reputable: these manufacturers use a +/-3dB range. this range is considered to be a flat response as human hearing sensitivity is ~3dB. there are a huge number of reputable companies that fit into this group. High end speakers will go as far as matching drivers in a matched pair of speakers to within 0.5dB. Companies in this category include Wharfdale, Mission, PSB, Paradigm, Martin Logan, SVS, KEF, Dynaudio,

Very questionable: these manufacturers will use a +/-6dB range. we call this marketing data since it doesn't accurately reflect performance when compared to +/-3dB data. marketing folks will use this to fool people into thinking a product performs better than it really does. you see this done on a lot of low end products, including "brand names" you are very familiar with JBL, Klipsch, B&W, etc. sometimes you will see them pick and choose data. their low end products may use the 6dB range (to enhance their appeal) and use the more meaningful 3dB spec for their upper level products.

Not reputable: these companies don't use any +/- range. this makes the frequency response meaningless as there is no defined acceptance limit. this product would fit into this category. Again there are "brand names" you are very familiar with Polk, Infinity, Definitive Technology, etc. that use this tactic. You may see this called " Overall Frequency Response" which is meaningless (No +/- range)

without knowing the +/- range on your speakers it would be impossible to accurately say if a sub would help you. and since this product has no acceptance limits it is impossible to state that you will get any benefit using it.

You can buy a subwoofer amp, and hook that up just disconnect the internal amp wires.

I got this sub last year, in comparison to any other mediocre brand / cost it's very OK. You will get the bass you're looking for, just doesn't sound as clean or have as much depth. But don't expect that for a 100 dollar sub.

I primarily bought it for it's space saving design at this price point.

If you're an audiophile or notice good sound in general don't get it. If you just need a sub, this is a steal.

I don't think I'm a bass head at all anymore haha.

I think I'll snag if someone can say it should at least match my old pioneer andrew jones sub from the set. I am going with klipsch reference premiere speakers for the new room but don't need much.

I got this to go with my Fluance RT85 and Klipsch Fives. I'm hoping that it will clear up the vocals a tad on my Fives on the lower volumes by sending some of lows to the sub so the Fives can focus on the mids and highs. Maybe I'm dreaming, but it was a recommendation off Reddit. Lol

Ordered this to pair with my Edifier R1700BTs via the LFE cable supplied with this sub, and a 3.5mm TS Mono Plug to RCA Jack Adapter.
