I use Chemical Guys Extreme Body Wash & Wax Foaming Car Wash Soap (CWS207). I dilute it when loading the foam cannon (about 90% water, 10% soap). I'm considering buying this because right now I use a Sun Joe pressure washer and it's a pain to set up (and put away) every time I wash the car. Plus, when moving around, sometimes my garden hose, the power cord, and the foam cannon hose get tangled up. If I can the pressure washer, it might be worth it. Of course the trade off is I won't get the strength of the pressure wash, but I think I'm willing to give that up as I don't really need it for washing my car.
Make sure you watch a review or two on YouTube about this thing before you purchase. I decided not to. Not a replacement for a foam cannon, not much better than a good old wash bucket and mit…it sort of just lightly dispenses foam onto the car. Not really sure why you'd spend money on this. Just my $0.02.

What sort of soap do you use with this?

Ditch the Sun Joe(like I did) and get something like an Active 2.0. Add a couple of mods/upgrades and you can have a killer home setup(if you live in a house).

I love washing my car with the foam cannon and gas powered pressure washer but man getting it out is easy putting it away is the part I hate!!!! I feel your pain brotha!

unfortunately the pressure washer is vital to the operation to get thick, sticky foam.
i have two similar items to this, and a cheap and an expensive one that are for pressure washer use. the pressure washer units both (with properly diluted soap) make nice foam, the hose units (comparatively) make more like soapy water☹️
they are perfectly OK but they are NOT similar
(i am an amateur, and i also hate lugging out my gas pressure washer that never has any gas in it and fighting the hoses - but by the time i'm going to wash the car I lug out the pressure washer because the thick foam saves time in the long run)

I have a different name brand of the same thing and use it often. It works very well for how long I've had mine. The soap doesn't stick like the pressure washer ones but it does a good enough job for me to soap spray and then wash with a mit. Mine has a quick detach to hose down the truck with water or you can turn the dial on the top and sprays only water. I used Chemical Guys Mr Pink soap in mine.
