LOL. I had actually come here early but then went down a rabbit hole of cascading side tracks.

TBH, I am not crazy about this deal. I liked some of your other deals more (even if they were refurbished). This is not really for gaming: the RX 6400 isn't doing anything here which the iGPU in the CPU couldn't do (except not take away from the system RAM). For productivity use, it's fine, but I would prefer an i5 CPU for that.

Ultimately, it doesn't compare to your recent HP with Ryzen 7 5700G / 32GB DDR4 / Radeon RX 6600XT for $510, Acer with Intel Core i5-12400 for $288 and maybe even the HP with Ryzen 5 5600G / 12GB DDR4 for $319 deals.

I am hoping I am not sounding too negative here. My point is: We've seen better values, from your own deals including.
A few things to know for people want to buy this,

(If I am not mistaken and correct me if I am wrong)

The AM4 motherboard only supports 65W CPUs. This means CPU like 5950x, 5900x, 5800x etc will not be supported.

The CPU 5300G, 5600G and 5700G only support PCIe 3.0, not the faster PCIe 4.0, not the fastest PCIe 5.0. This means your GPU or M.2 SSD will be limited to PCIe 3.0 speed, even if they can do the 4.0 or 5.0 speed.

The case, power supply and motherboard are in a HP special form factor. Not ATX, mATX, ITX etc. So, if you want to upgrade one of the three items, you have to upgrade all three at once.

There are only two RAM slots, there is no way to put 4 sticks of DDR4 RAM into this PC. Just two sticks allowed.

The BIOS/UEFI of the motherboard offers very limited features. No typical ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte overclocking features supported.

The case is very small. It's good if you dont have much room but there is no way to fit a 3 fans GPU into this case. You should be able to fit a 2 fans GPU into the case if you remove the metal mash net thing. The default GPU is a one fan only GPU.

I personally think in 2023 December, you should not buy this PC. DIY build one should be a better idea.
But if you dont have time, need one right now and ship fast to your home for whatever reason, then go for it.
I appreciate you sharing your knowledge, and I agree that this isn't in super duper hot deal territory. However, when someone needs to buy the market may not present anything better at the time in their price range, so sometimes it's nice to know about some of the better prices available.

I'm even flattered that you can rattle off most of the computer deals I've posted in recent months haha

I also agree about the RX 6400; That's why I nudged buyers towards the attractively priced GPU upgrade options in the description.

Anyways, nice to see ya and have a good day.

Oh and let me add this...it's not negativity to give your honest informed opinion. We need more of that in the comments.

Picked up this last July from Walmart for $399 with a 512 GB SSD. Found another 8 gig of RAM on eBay for $20 to even it out at 16G. Some weird things about it like the HP Intel cpu cooler on the 5600G I doubt you could build anything with a legit copy of windows 11 for $400. See how long it lasts.

Oh I thought it was a desktop you've had for a while and were considering replacing. Looks to be a mid 2018 model or thereabouts, this Victus looks to be early 2022. But I don't knock on 5 year old Dells; they're workhorses.
My previous Dell refurb got corrupted during a Windows update, clean install didn't even do the trick. Since it was too old for Win11, I figured I would just take the opportunity to upgrade to a newer machine.

Sounds like a corrupted BIOS, since that's close to all that's left when Windows is removed. Depending on the age of it, some OEM motherboards can be had dirt cheap and that may have been the easiest fix. I have 4 Dell desktops and thankfully have never had a problem like that (or any other problems; they've been rock solid for years). Probably just bad luck paying you a visit.

Just for grins, I went on eBay to see what a used OEM motherboard for one of my older Dells would cost. $13 shipped, and the old boy has bunches of them. After a certain age that hardware becomes all but worthless.

I have an AMEX offer of $150 off $999. Anyone want to split this with me? We can build 2 of them to be just over $500 each.

An ancient 1070 system will have over 100% better GPU performance. Not worth "gaming" on this.

I don't really see why this has a 6400 in it, that card is marginally better than the 5600g iGPU. Otherwise, it looks like a fairly decent computer.

My Costco order just came in. The desktop is just in a brown box with styrofoam padding. No retail packaging. Is that normal?

yes, that is normal , similar to getting it directly from the Manufacture.
