Important Update: Slickdeals user TimR4241 has found this same HP with a 512GB SSD on a Costco deal for $399.99 + $14.99 shipping. Obviously a better deal if you have Costco access. Give him some love in the comments! Link:

https://www.costco.com/hp-victus-...18540.html

HP has the New HP Victus 15L Gaming Desktop TG02-0325m Ryzen 5 5600G (6-Core, 12 Threads 3.9GHz up to 4.4GHz) 8GB DDR4 Radeon RX 6400 4GB GDDR6 256GB NVMe WiFi WIndows 11 Home for $429.99. Shipping is free. Choice of Micro Silver or Ceramic White color at this price.

An entry level gaming desktop with 500W power supply and reasonably good upgrade options.

Upgrades available when ordering to NVIDIA RTX 3050 8GB GDDR6 ($110), NVIDIA RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6 ($170), and NVIDIA RTX 4060 8GB GDDR6X ($180). I included these graphics card options here because they seem to be compelling upgrade deals at substantially lower than market prices, even with the adjustment for trading up from the RX 6400.

Windows 11 Home
AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600G (3.9 GHz up to 4.4 GHz , 16 MB L3 cache, 6 cores, 12 threads)
8 GB DDR4-3200 MHz RAM (2 x 4 GB)
256 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD
No HDD
AMD Radeon™ RX 6400 Graphics (4 GB GDDR6 dedicated)
500 W 80 Plus Bronze certified power supply
Realtek RTL8822CE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (2x2) Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® 5 combo
No Additional Office Software
McAfee Livesafe (30 day)
No Included Keyboard

LOL. I had actually come here early but then went down a rabbit hole of cascading side tracks. Facepalm

TBH, I am not crazy about this deal. I liked some of your other deals more (even if they were refurbished). This is not really for gaming: the RX 6400 isn't doing anything here which the iGPU in the CPU couldn't do (except not take away from the system RAM). For productivity use, it's fine, but I would prefer an i5 CPU for that.

Ultimately, it doesn't compare to your recent HP with Ryzen 7 5700G / 32GB DDR4 / Radeon RX 6600XT for $510, Acer with Intel Core i5-12400 for $288 and maybe even the HP with Ryzen 5 5600G / 12GB DDR4 for $319 deals.

I am hoping I am not sounding too negative here. My point is: We've seen better values, from your own deals including. Thumbup
A few things to know for people want to buy this,

(If I am not mistaken and correct me if I am wrong)

The AM4 motherboard only supports 65W CPUs. This means CPU like 5950x, 5900x, 5800x etc will not be supported.

The CPU 5300G, 5600G and 5700G only support PCIe 3.0, not the faster PCIe 4.0, not the fastest PCIe 5.0. This means your GPU or M.2 SSD will be limited to PCIe 3.0 speed, even if they can do the 4.0 or 5.0 speed.

The case, power supply and motherboard are in a HP special form factor. Not ATX, mATX, ITX etc. So, if you want to upgrade one of the three items, you have to upgrade all three at once.

There are only two RAM slots, there is no way to put 4 sticks of DDR4 RAM into this PC. Just two sticks allowed.

The BIOS/UEFI of the motherboard offers very limited features. No typical ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte overclocking features supported.

The case is very small. It's good if you dont have much room but there is no way to fit a 3 fans GPU into this case. You should be able to fit a 2 fans GPU into the case if you remove the metal mash net thing. The default GPU is a one fan only GPU.

I personally think in 2023 December, you should not buy this PC. DIY build one should be a better idea.
But if you dont have time, need one right now and ship fast to your home for whatever reason, then go for it.
I appreciate you sharing your knowledge, and I agree that this isn't in super duper hot deal territory. However, when someone needs to buy the market may not present anything better at the time in their price range, so sometimes it's nice to know about some of the better prices available.

I'm even flattered that you can rattle off most of the computer deals I've posted in recent months haha

I also agree about the RX 6400; That's why I nudged buyers towards the attractively priced GPU upgrade options in the description.

Anyways, nice to see ya and have a good day.

Oh and let me add this...it's not negativity to give your honest informed opinion. We need more of that in the comments.

Good basic light gaming PC. Can be had for $391 if you can get EPP pricing.

It seems to be getting harder to find upgradeable gaming platforms with decent graphics cards in this price range. At less than $450 I thought this one was worth posting for those on a tight budget who may want to upgrade later. Not much storage or RAM out of the box, but DDR4 RAM and SSD upgrades are both really cheap these days. Better to DIY instead of paying HP's crazy high prices to do it at the factory. $90 for another 8GB of RAM...I don't think so, HP.

This is a worthwhile system. Also looking at it. Waiting for some additional incentive (coupon, rebate).

Edit: Previous Woot sold this system in a much better configuration, but was refurbished.

I tried every coupon I could find before posting, but no joy. There's supposed to be a 15% off first order with newsletter sign-up, but I think it's a targeted popup and they never presented it to me. Possibly something that incognito mode may fix...or they may email the code automatically upon sign-up. Worth $64 off if you can make it happen.

I thought about it some more and gave it a thumbs up. I *personally* would rather have a better CPU than the 5600G. But, on the balance, it is fine for productivity use. Being a new (not refurbished) configuration is worth something too.

That's what sent me down the rabbit hole this morning. I wanted to see if that crazy 5700G / 32GB DDR4 / Radeon RX 6600XT deal for $510 was somehow available again. drool

Well I appreciate your support. Pretty sure that your TU pushed this one into trending deals.

And speaking of hot computer deals, we had a few lucky winners score the Dell 7060 i7-8700T 16GB Mini for $109 recently. That one qualified as a pryse musteak.

For anyone considering this desktop for gaming duty, I would highly recommend an upgrade to at least 16GB of RAM at setup for all-around better performance. $17 at Amazon.

I agree that this isn't the latest greatest in gaming by a long shot. In fact, the CPU has been out for a couple of years now (Q2 2021). The price point has all of that baked in, so to speak.

If you have some suggestions for a home built gaming PC and the components you'd use that add up to roughly this price with better performance, I'm sure that it would be appreciated by many SDers. I myself would be highly impressed. $430 doesn't buy much gaming gear these days.
