Super slick, thanks OP. I was able to add the Dell EcoLoop Pro Sleeve 15-16 for $20.99 to pad my order to $600.25 after tax and 10% discount code. Used three different AMEX cards to stack $200 off (Platinum business), $40 off $200 or more (EveryDay), and another $40 off $200 or more (Gold) for $320.25 net out of pocket (plus REDACTED and bonus REDACTED today only, and extra 2 MR points for Dell purchases on Gold card).

I have this laptop, be advise that:
- It's heavy
- 250-nits, 45% NTSC is DARK

I don't like the 250 nits. If you plan to use it as desktop replacement or with an external monitor as your main one, it is fine. However, it destroys the purpose of being a laptop.

I have one. The screen is gorgeous and not dark.

How many Watts is the GPU here? There appears to be a 75W and a 45W(?) version with substantial suffering performance.

The former, 75W.

Yeah, albinos may struggle in this area, but 250 nits is just fine when it's dark out or on a plane or in a room inside. Nobody really uses a laptop on a sunny afternoon with no clouds. There are reflective TFT's that would suit your case better. But that's not for everyone.

For the price, this looks like a pretty good deal imho.

For those who are using AMEX, please be advised:
- Do not use your card via third party (i.e paypal, e-wallet...)
- $599+ that AMEX requires is the total amount you pay Dell after tax (item+tax)

I made a mistake of using AMEX but via Paypal. AMEX refused to give me the bonus. I did not read AMEX's conditions from AMEX page. I hope you will not make the same mistake.

Around this time last year, I had this laptop Dell G15 but back then it was different with the lower specs in terms of processor and ram of video card:
  • 12th Generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12500H (18MB Cache, up to 4.5 GHz, 12 cores)Item number: 338-CDKC
  • NVIDIA(R) GeForce RTX(TM) 3050 4GB GDDR6Item number: 490-BGVH

You seriously just blew my mind in the best way... I had no idea I could stack Amex offers between different cards. Holy awesome! Cheers!

Just a heads-up. I bought last year's model of G15, and to my surprise it doesn't have a security lock hole in it. So there's no way to lock it up, if you thinking of going mobile with it.

Hoping someone can help since I'm a beginner+ at understanding components. And please don't judge the decision I've already made lol. I bought my kids, who play mostly Roblox and some destiny 2, this HP: https://slickdeals.net/f/17158936-hp-victus-15l-gaming-desktop-tg02-0325m-ryzen-5-5600g-6-core-12-threads-3-9ghz-up-to-4-4ghz-8gb-ddr4-radeon-rx-6400-4gb-gddr6-256gb-nvme-wifi-windows-11-home-429-99?page=3#commentsSection
I upgraded the GPU to the rtx 3050 and was out the door $500 after tax because of the education discount. They have 32gig ram in their old computers I was going to swap and I bought 1TB SSD for $50ish. They have external monitors and this would be their main rig. I'm mainly wondering which CPU is better and if the ddr5 vs the ddr4 makes a significant difference. Price will be similar so I'm just wondering if this is worth returning the others and getting this instead if I were to upgrade this to 32 g ram as well. Thanks in advance!
Looking at the specs, for most purposes, I'd expect the desktop to have maybe 10% better frame rates. CPU and RAM is largely irrelevant, but probably pretty close in performance.
