Super slick, thanks OP. I was able to add the Dell EcoLoop Pro Sleeve 15-16 for $20.99 to pad my order to $600.25 after tax and 10% discount code. Used three different AMEX cards to stack $200 off (Platinum business), $40 off $200 or more (EveryDay), and another $40 off $200 or more (Gold) for $320.25 net out of pocket (plus REDACTED and bonus REDACTED today only, and extra 2 MR points for Dell purchases on Gold card).

Just a heads-up. I bought last year's model of G15, and to my surprise it doesn't have a security lock hole in it. So there's no way to lock it up, if you thinking of going mobile with it.
My pair of pliers will cut your "security lock " in 3 seconds.

Would you mind telling me why you redacted some of the information? I got lost.

Because it's against the rules to mention cash back websites.

How good is this 3050 compared to a desktop 1660ti?

Pretty decent deal, especially if you can slap on some cash back.

I picked up the MSI GF63 (https://www.walmart.com/ip/MSI-GF...1312771589) when Walmart had it for $480 last month. With my Amex, I can get this base configuration Dell for the same price or less. If it's for a near-12 year-old who's mostly doing Minecraft and Roblox right now but who has aspirations of doing more gaming, should I be considering returning the MSI and getting the Dell or am I fine sticking with what's already wrapped under the tree?

(Per a Nanoscore comparison, the Dell should give better performance but the MSI should look better. Since I don't do computer gaming, I have no idea how to quantify the importance of the tradeoffs there, so any thoughts would be appreciated.)

Do it like most asian families do: absolutely no computer games for kids. Period.

I was going to pull trigger on this but backed out. The 3050 6GB GPU is not good enough for a machine that is coming to $500 after factoring in all cashback, AMEX offer, etc.

This needs to be around $400 to score a deal.
