I got a similar one from ebay for $130. It looks the same as the one posted here. It's very loud and slow. There is no dust collection system but you can print it from a file from thingiverse (search for cnc 3018 accessories or upgrades). It took me 2-3 hours to assemble. I use Easle to run the cut since I have free 3 year subscription for x-carve but you can use other free softwares as well.
If you need to cut small stuff using woods, then it will do the job. Overall, it's a decent little machine to get you into CNC. But if you want to get into something bigger like woodworking, I'd get an x-carve or shapeoko or onefinity
Please no not another hobby for me to get into for a week and give up on 😅😅
I was thinking of getting this so can sit next to the brand new laser Engraver my wife needed a year ago

Available at this price, and lower, all day from other vendors.

Searching Amazon for CNC 3018 Pro shows many others at this price. I personally hate dealing with Monoprice unless I'm saving some $$$.

Is this good for learning CNC machining? I want to get into the trade but not sure if this would help me along.

Yes, but very slowly and with multiple cutter changes.

If you want to do aluminum regularly, search for its bigger brother (CNC3040) or research gantry and spindle upgrades.

I had a similar one a long time ago and sold it. They're a lot more work to use than a 3D printer. Bits are easy to find on eBay, they last a while but you have to be careful not to break them with bad programming. Cheap CNCs work pretty much exactly as advertised though, no real issues.

As far as I'm concerned though, DIY PCBs aren't worth it unless you're training for a job where you'll need crazy short lead times, because you have to do the vias by hand, you don't get solder mask unless you DIY that too, and custom PCBs are just so cheap from professional fabs.

I'd sure rather use one of these than deal with DIY etching chemicals though!
