Tried a few of these tiny machines and they all break or barely work.
Nope I rent
We run ours year round and they last about 2 years. None have been this brand, but they all seem to be the same thing, just rebranded.

Our current one won't die just yet, it's a fighter, but it's starting to make noise, will make ice regardless of water level (it makes tiny contact lens size ice if low), and the lid falls off lol.

Even though it works, this is a good enough price to keep it as a backup until the other one finally stops working.

Our fridge has the ability to make ice, but we prefer these ice machines because we can easily use water that's gone through our Berkey filter first. ✌️

Yeah maybe a year. I don't want to be on Walmarts lucrative return list so might go in store and pay cash and keep receipt on this one if possible.

Keep an eye on the fan, if it stops working a little usb fan works.

I had one of these a few years ago and it developed mold in and around the metal freezing rods. Kept cleaning it once a week until I tossed it out after getting tired. Could be user error. My grandmother has the same one and hers works fine the once a year she uses it.

I actively avoid them, they are the first thing to break. I do not need the headache. Service call is twice what type thing costs. Goes on a mini fridge and you still come out on top.

This. Water and Ice Dispensers built into refrigerators/freezers are not only prone to leaks (inside and outside of the appliance), but are also nearly impossible to sanitize so they are filled with bacteria. I avoid refrigerators with them unless it is a great deal and even then I will turn the water dispenser off and usually the ice maker as well.
