There's a good chance this streaming version looks better by virtue of the streaming services using more modern codecs. Though it's possible it has the same issues if it's from the same source as the disc. I'd hold off on purchasing it until a remaster is confirmed to have happened. Unless someone else can chime in with experience streaming it.
Also I didn't think it was all that great of a movie compared to House of Flying Daggers which maybe isn't all that either since I watched it last ~20 years ago and am no longer 15. Another movie with an even worse Bluray apparently.
