YMMV Ooma Telo Air 2 & 3 HD3 Handsets on clearance at Costco. This is lowest I've ever seen this bundle. 1 HD3 handsets by itself is the cost of this if not more.
If you sign on with this company, be prepared that if you ever want to leave, their customer service will be actively hostile and make it as difficult as possible. I have to call back to try again after failing a couple of months ago. Meanwhile, I continue to pay.
I am wondering what folks are doing now that you can not re activate any OBI device to use with GV. My 200 has not gone out yet, I hear resets are the end of GV with these sips? When that comes can we use them with another voip? There were a few services a few yrs ago but it was never down to that.
What are folks doing?
I am thinking I will grab one of these if I can find one as a last ditch effort to stop a cell phone only madness. I hate to pay the taxes, but they are the last options for ATA adapters.
I am on a hunt for this deal. The box is $60 and this one comes with 2 wireless phones. Arg.. I hate have to pay local taxes again, then again Google has not killed my obi200 yet.
For me it is $7+ /month taxes in MN. A 1 yr trac phone deal comes in to play in the value pool.. ( $7x12 months =$84/yr).
I am moving Mom to OOma from Comcrap.
Last thing I read was GV via OBI is over, so it is time to get your phone # under contro9l.

FWIW, Ooma phone service is much more reliable than Google Voice. If you only need the number occasionally, Ooma is probably overkill and not worth it when you compare it to some VOIP services that charge an under $0.04 per minute with no monthly minimum or subscription costs. Many of those services are compatible with the OBI.

I think I will need to learn more about this stuff again. It has been so long since Sun Rocket days. What services are availible for our OBI devices when the end of the road is here? I was thinking of moving mom to ooma, but that old house phone on xshivity is $20 plus equiptment, plus fees and taxes. If only I could have got to her a few years ago!. I would suppose the same fees we would pay on ooma. She does like that phone and number she has had since 1983. I like the call clarity of old school hand sets. I can never hear her over the TV if I call her on the Iphone, so I call on the xshivity home voice line so I can hear her and her me.
Any one know if we can directly move a comcrap phone # to ooma with out issues directly? I remember reading folks had move to a cell phone company and then back to ooma??
Ooma Free (only 1 line and basic features) will only run $7-$9 per month for the taxes and government fees. You can get a 2nd line for fee and enhanced features with Ooma Premier which goes on sale multiple times per year for $99 and sometimes comes with the Ooma Telo Device for free. Even with the $120 regular price and the taxes and fees you will be less than $20/month and with Premier you can port your phone number over for free.
I'll just chime in here and say I switched my Verizon land line to Ooma last week. So far I'd say it has been worth it.
Bought the Ooma Telo Air w/ 2 handsets for $89, though had I seen this I totally would have gotten this instead for another phone for $10 more.
My Taxes / Fees are 6.50 a month. I did pay for a year of premiere service ($120) because it includes a free # port (normally $40). I'll re-evaluate after a year if I want to keep it or switch back to basic only. But even at $16 a month if I keep premiere its still cheaper than what Verizon was charging.
Also I can still use my older Panasonic phones too.

Honestly I would consider a cell-based "home phone" service. That way you eliminate a point of failure that is your third party internet connection so if her internet goes out she'll still be able to pick up her old school handset and dial 911. USMobile came out with one last year that undercuts both Straight Talk and Consumer Cellular by alot. Its 10 bucks a month all in. I'm moving my mother from Straight Talk's nearly 18 bucks a month service to USMobile's right now... just waiting on the port from Numberbarn to go through. USMobile's is on TMobile's network so she would need good signal from them. --Of course if she has a cell phone for a backup already then this may not make sense unless her cell phone was on Verizon or ATT.

If a costco item ends in a double zero or seven, then it means that it is on sale (big sale or clearance).
