That model takes in more line per turn, which I really like when reeling in bigger largemouth.

The GX2 is absurdly durable and used to be much more affordable but even bargain bin Walmart rods with aluminum oxide guides will hold up to saltwater better in the long run. Just straight up avoid anything from Pure Fishing with the one-piece stainless guides if you're primarily fishing salt, especially if you use braid.
This one can take a lot more salt and sand.
If you're worried about salt, then just be sure your reel can handle some salt. And of course don't dunk your reel in salt or sand. And never soak your reel!
EDIT: I misread your comment. I use a Penn Fierce 4000 with my GX2. A shimmano sienna 4000 is good too. A bit cheaper and the drag is old fashioned and easier to adjust. I have it on my wife's elite ugly stick
