We're not doing this again. Go check every other post about these if you need to catch up on the explanation.

Well.. it's probably annoying if you've set an alert for 'generator' deals and 4/5 matches are actually just Battery/Inverter combos like this.

At any rate... $1359+tax is pretty solid for a Delta Pro, even if it is refurb... EF still warranties it for 5yrs.

Can we stop calling batteries generators?

What that person likely mean is that the price of these Delta pro units may soon drop further, especially as the new Ultra model takes the top spot as the mobile home backup solution.
ah, right.. yeah, likely.

Battery storage is proving subject to Moore's Law so this will be the case for a long while. That said, this discount also applies to the 720 kWh River Pro, making it $204 before tax. It's the old battery tech but that's 28 cents per kWh which is amazingly cheap by comparison.

I doubt the new ultra will be priced anywhere close to this deal. Not for a while at least.
Correct. Ultra is 6kwh. And better in every way.

Could I use one of these to power my sump pump during an outage?

Also it seems you need 2 of these to come even close to the ultra

No kidding. It is very confusing. This thing does not generate anything. Its a storage device aka battery.
You are right. No such thing that generates electricity even your conventional gasoline/propane generator isn't really a generator.

Read Law of Conservation of energy. [wikipedia.org]

But since we call that a "generator", even though it doesn't really generate electricity, then it's not dumb to call this a generator as well.

Nice! Bought Wave 2 with the add on battery for the price of just Wave 2!
Do you have to buy a separate battery to make the wave 2 work?

This is neither a power station nor a generator. But I guess today we can call things something they're not and it's totally fine now. Thumbs down for this overpriced UPS battery backup.

Like I said, if you want to hear more, go to literally any other solar generator post on here and you can read up on a conversation about this exact topic. It clogs up the comments for people who actually care about the deal or the product in the post.

YEah I get that part but you need to power both circuits of 110. This only has one. Unless you connected both to the same 110 circuit?
edit: or are you using two of them and using the 220 option ?
All I know is that every light and outlet is hot with 110. We used a 220 surplus volt dryer circuit that wasn't being used because I have a gas dryer. So I guess that I am feeding both 110 legs of my main panel with 30 amps of 110 from the delta pro.

How would this do for a home backup vs an emphase 10k unit? I just got solar and it's not legal to have batteries installed in NYC. We don't really have power loss but still thinking about adding some sort of batteries.
You don't install these. Unless you specifically want to.
These are meant to be portable and usable on the fly, and these are perfect for NYCo r any apartment style living.
Btw, NYC does have power outages. (all burroughs at times) Only, yours lasts for weeks or rolling blackouts for weeks. I used to contract for ConEd. They designed the grid this way so whole blocks lose power and not the entire NYC area. (except 911)

Seriously considering but used equipment does not qualify for the 30% tax rebate.

Have a 2010 sprinter van rv that needs its electrical updated. 30amp and everything works, just batteries are small so electricity doesent last very long. This would be a one stop shop and is removable for the 90% of the time the RV is unused.

Have a small shop that has 120 but no 240 so no bigger power tools. Buried line is too small to go any bigger so stuck with what I have. Have had to buy 120 versions of items (like a small car lift) to fit. Would be nice to have 240 if I bought 2.

Lastly I live rural so power outages occur a few times a year, so could wire up parts of house for battery back up. Have a wood stove and a proane cook top so just need a few lights and fridge/freezer power to be comfortable.

Very specific use case but these seem like the best deal Ive seen on something that could do all 3.

Someone mentioned it already, but we'll probably have to wait for more IRS guidance on whether refurbished units from the manufacturer are acceptable, because they're not the same as used.

From what I understand of the law, they're mainly excluding used equipment to prevent fraud.

Toss in the trunk of a Tesla and you have a spare… maybe 12 miles of range.
