I have this exact set(bundle #2) - receiver and speakers. They are fantastic for the money. Sound is excellent for a smaller room like mine - 12x14.

Is there a way to change the subwoofer levels on the fly without having to jump into the setup menu on screen or pulling up the quick menu? Can you do it 100% thru the remote or do you need to use something on screen?
Sorry it took so long to get back to you but I finally got mine set up and yes, from this revceiver you can press a button for BASS, TREBLE and VOICE and turn individually those controls up or down without going through the menu for speaker setup from the remote.

If anyone else is curious, this system after two returns and a few CS phone calls ended up being worth the $ and time to upgrade to. It's not high end for sure but I'd say for most (especially all but the most expensive sound bars) you're really going to like this setup. It has a lot of dimension in the sound if properly set up. Those bookshelf's really impressed me because i wasn't expecting much from them. All in all, this is a good set and if you're in the market it's a good value.

Also on the Sub: I upgraded from an 8" Yamaha and this sub definitely was an upgrade. On movies it can cause some "feel" but for the hearing part of it, it's plenty for me. You're not going to rattle your windows or anything with this. It's more than enough for a movie or music audibly. If you need to feel the sound waves vibrate you/your belongings, you'll def want to upgrade size and power.

what did you replace your center with?

Which speaker wire did you replace it with?

I'm not the guy you quoted but I did my fair share of research and the 2.5way Klipsch RP 504c II has been noted as great. I've seen it sell for $300 but that's obviously its own investment. However, considering that most of the sounds come from center, it's pretty important. I was surprised how reliant the center was with Titanic. I'm like wtf. Do I hear most of the wave and wind sounds from the center.

Also, lastly there is a fix for your center I found in someone else's thread. Let me update my comment in a sec here

Mainly because the market for receivers is dead as dead! A bestbuy manager told me this year they sent back 75% of their home receivers to the manufacturer unsold! People all want sleek soundbars which are barely passable sound quality! Convenience over quality wins once again!
Consider though, that this is bestbuy we're talking about... If I wanted a receiver, I probably wouldn't be shopping at best buy either (in my personal experience and opinion they tend to have *very* high markups and typically only carry relatively low end gear). I would be looking at audio shops like sweetwater, adorama, crutchfield, etc. to maximize my investment of new equipment, or for me, more likely, poke around on ebay as I don't personally mind used equipment in good condition.
