Comical. So with your logic no history books should be written about events unless they are recent or how many years ago? The book was published in 2012 when the author was 66. He has written about a dozen other history books. He is not looking for clicks. Maybe to sell books though, like any other author.

Nice, got rid of some credits. Considering the scope of the book, and that it's not a million pages, seems like this is a high-level overview of the war.
