One of the few things Phillips brand if good at.
Philips has mostly removed itself from consumer electronics to focus on high end medical equipment instead so almost every TV, razor, headphone etc sold with their name is made by someone else these days.

🤣 Does your husband not have a face? The eyebrow and nose trimmer attachments are worth it and not included in cheaper retail packs found at Target. The water resistance rating is also higher than the cheaper models so it can be rinsed off.
You're not good at sorting out sarcastic remarks, I see.

Apparently a discontinued item; see MG9740/40 | Norelco [philips.com]. That might not be a problem except I cannot find (online) what the blade replacements are. Probably the instructions specify what to get for replacing the blades but it might be a problem getting them.

In my experience, the non-water proof ones and way better and more powerful. Also usually cost less.
These are the only way I ever shave.

Why is this ymmv? It's the same price online and has been for a month now.
Really? Where else do you see it for $35? I'm looking for one but don't have Costco.
It was $50 when I tried to buy one yesterday, at Amazon and Walmart.

Check the review below by Paul @GroomReviews of the Phillips Norelco Multigroom 7000, which is essentially the same as the 9000. You can also see it in the Comments section, where it's mentioned that the 9k is just a refresh or a step-up from the 7k - IE: Maybe better battery depending on the model variation, some cosmestic changes to the body, or a longer warranty. It also seems the reason for model-number changes is as to what's included with the item, bag, heads, etc, and not necessarily an update to the actual body or even the battery of the trimmer.

My XP on the deal is that I couldn't find it at my local Warehouse for that price (nor online), but seeing how much the 9000 series go for elsewhere, and considering Costco's phenomenal policies on Price Adjustments & Returns, I bit the bullet. My WAHL's 9818 T-head broke for the third time now, so time to try something new.

Cheapest 9000 series that I could find is at Walmart for $59.96 = https://walmart.com/ip/Philips-No...1731796246

TL;DR: You should have no problem acquiring a replacement trimmer head given the ubiquity of that model's body and attachment points @ Philips Norelco 7000 & 9000 series line

I was wondering the difference between the 7000 and 9000 series.

Seems like the 7000 doesn't include a carrying bag but the Costco/9000 one does?

Also, the 7000 series seems to come with a USB charging cable which is much welcomed. Any idea if the 9000 does too?

Almost returned the Costco version for the Walmart one, but my ol' lady talked me out of it, 'cause she hates giving monies to Wally-world. Reason was that for $10 bucks more you get Two additional blade-heads (Wider T-head + Narrow shaping one, the former easily serving as a spare), the Foil head that helps with clearing stubble down, and it comes with a USB Charger vs just the wall plug. Walmart's model is a newer iteration of the 9000 series @ MG9500/50, but not so new that it includes the better battery life like Amazon's Model MG9510/60 does; battery life difference would be an hour: 5Hrs vs 6Hrs

Costco's model has battery life of 5Hrs, does not come with USB charger, but it does include a Soft-shell padded bag. If you want the Hard-shell bag included, you'll want to get Amazon's higher model here: https://amazon.com/NEW-Philips-No...0BQN8QH8P/ - which goes for $89.96, but Camel•x3 shows it went for $69 back in October/2023

• Note that Walmart's model looks to come with a soft-shell bag as well, and it has now gone back up to $69 bucks.

Thanks! This is really helpful! Main reason for upgrading would be for USB charging (after a recent experience while traveling and not having a wall plug, but story for another day) and a nice case that could be used for traveling would be a good second reason. Battery life is not really an issue once I have USB charging, so could go either way.

I guess my best option is to wait for the Amazon version to drop in price.
