I played this for free with ps+, but I'd definitely pay the $2 for it. Apparently people say this game is incredibly harder than souls, but I thought it was pretty easy once I got the hang of this battle style. But I also never played a souls game.

Because art is subjective, not objective. These people enjoyed the game, that's why one posted this deal and others commented on the game. You have to try it yourself to find out. No matter how many people like it or hate it, only you know what you like.
Seems logical. But why isn't anyone here buying The Surge 1 & 2 - Dual Pack Bundle for $6.98 then, which is 84% off?
One of the (albeit rare) downsides of PC gaming is that different hardware configurations can sometimes introduce compatibility issues that cause uncaught bugs.
Most small studios only have a handful of configurations to test with, leaving a lot unchecked.
This is why bug reporting is very important.
I never mentioned not reporting the bug to the developer. I did, as did many others upon a google search at the time. I did like the game up to that point, which was about 20 minutes or so into the game before the bug that prevented progression. The developer recommended turning on/off vsync, but that didn't solve it. I have bought a new computer since, and it may be worth another try with my new hardware.

If this game is so good then why do some Steam reviews say it is an extremely boring game? There's some conflict here. How do we know who is telling the truth?
Every game in existence has a mixture of good and bad reviews. Do you ask this question on every single game? What a weird comment.

Fair question. I'm not sure. This was the first souls like game that clicked for me. I really liked the dismemberment mechanic. The sci-fi setting also worked for me. I liked that it isn't as clunky as Dark Souls, it's faster, and has lots of interesting customization for your character.

I can't believe there's no unanimous opinion about this game.
