yep, Altec Lansing used to be sounding good before but not anymore.
Sad but true. I remember having a KILLER set of Altec Lansing 2.1 speakers back in the late 90's. They were awesome!
I got one of these little BT speakers from them and it's OK for my daughter to use in the bathroom while showering but the sound quality is really not what I hoped from the Altec Lansing name. A room larger than a bathroom will swallow up any bass these things manage to create.

Best computer system ever, solid bass, down firing mid range and 2 tweeters per speaker. Form factor fit perfect on my desk and any set up I had it in. The connecting plugs would go after a while but the can be replaced.
Altec Lansing hasn't been the same since Plantronics initially bought it to suck all the audio patent and know-how from it, before spitting it back out to private equity that is only focused on cutting operations with minimal R&D. Altec Lansing today is a shell of its former self.
