Some moisture got on the light leads while outside. You put it in the box, and it rusted over the course of a year.

They definitely don't last forever. 3 years tops on outdoor LED string lights. Between UV, animals, water, ice, sharp gutter edges the deck is stacked against any outdoor lights.

I bought a few of the led's last year to use inside. Crazy looking at the reviews. Last year reviews were stellar. This year, there are a ton of reviews changed to 1 star as they all failed between now and then. Crazy the tyle of garbage these companies put out.

Also, be aware that these have a bit of flicker. If the led is moving or you turn your head you can see the flicker really badly.

This isn't true. I returned 90 boxes of the 100 ct strands of lights on 12/24 with no problem. I bought 90 when they were 50% off. Then when they went to 75% off I bought another 90 and just returned them with my old receipts from 2 weeks before.

You are, however, not allowed to return them AFTER Christmas.

Good luck getting your orders. For the second year in a row I ordered several Christmas sale items from Lowe's following links on this site. On both occasions my order completed successfully and then a short time later I get an email stating that all of the items on my order have been cancelled because they are "Out of Stock". They apparently check availability when you add items to your cart but obviously this process does not work or maybe they just don't care. Hopefully some of you get what you order but I wont be wasting my time ordering anything online from Lowe's until they get this issue corrected.

Yep. Most of their inventory is vaporware, especially if it's being picked up at the store. I ordered a bunch of lights for in-store pickups (with some skus saying they had hundred of the item in stock), only to have have them all cancelled with "out of stock" explanations. Their inventory management systems are laughable.

i think you're right their inventory system sucks (have also had orders at various times of the year canceled for the same reason). this year they dropped to 75% 2+ weeks ago (this thread is from the 18th) though so i'm guessing at this point things are pretty picked over. i managed to pickup without issue on the 19th but am guessing i would have trouble now. it may be that the only chance of success now is to dig through stuff in person, unfortunately.
