Our newest mechanic's tool set is packaged in a 4-drawer blow-molded case with reinforced joints to help the case withstand the rigors of day to day use. The inside of the lid, top tray, and middle drawers feature special compartments that securely hold all of the tools in place. Every compartment has a stamped size call-out that indicates what tool belongs there, helping keep things highly organized. I've only encountered 2 issues. The rubber on the 5/8" spark plug socket dried out and no longer adequately grabs a spark plug. The screwdriver handle magnet fell out. I could have just glued it back in, but I lost it.
I highly recommend this over most other sets if you don't have a toolbox. The bottom drawer is empty so you can fill in any missing items like more extensions, swivels, crowfoot adapters, etc. The top section has a little recess that I store things like Loctite, RTV gasket, and oil drain plug washers.

This. I know people complain about blow molded cases, but unless you are a mobile mechanic, this one will hold up pretty well. See the comment I posted above this one about about the storage space in the Kobalt kit. It's really a nice feature.
