For the cycling newbies out there, hold off on swapping your saddle for a cushy, grandma-style throne or adding extra padding. It's like hitting the gym for the first time – your body protests at first being sore all over. Give it about three weeks for your backside to acclimate. No matter how plush the seat, your derrière is going to file a complaint after a few hours of riding. But, like a biking miracle, after three weeks, your butt enters a state of blissful non-soreness.

I have been cycling for around 20 years and extra padding is absolutely essential. You never get used to pain especially after 10 miles. That's when you realize it was a great purchase

This advice also applies to prison stints!

i have the narrow one on a racing seat,
these do eventually flatten and fail
so it's nice to get them cheap.
the fabric is not color fast, so you may
get a dark stain on light color fabrics.

In that study, 13% of the men had erectile dysfunction, which is well below the average. So if you go by what they say, it appears that cycling actually helps with the problem. But if this is a particular concern of yours, make sure the bike and the seat are the proper fit for you. And no, adding a pad to a poorly fitting seat isn't usually the right solution.

If you've been cycling for 20 years, you'd be wearing padded cycling shorts and probably have had your sit bones measured and gotten a properly fitted saddle, not using a monstrosity like this.

Unless you're specifically looking for a seat cover, I'd recommend buying the actual seat for a dollar more
