It's not true. I got that free line and did a device promo for a Pixel 7 pro in December 2022 and I'm still getting the device credits. I bought a Samsung 10e on swappa for that line to do the trade in (Samsung phone was worth $800 in credits)
I did the same BYOD, 12/15/2022. This was my first ever free T-Mobile line as I was a fairly new customer. I got the line for a future kid use, and it is getting close to have to start using it.

I was concerned because everyone said you can get device promotions on it, but hopefully I can.

Might just let the kiddo use the old 6s plus since it will probably get dropped anyway.

"Hi there, I appreciate you for checking in to see if you qualify for this offer! It appears that you do not qualify for that specific offer, but good thing cause it appears that you qualify for our other free line promos! Let's take a look at "Buy One, Get One Free with New Voice Lines" and see if that works for you! Shall we?"

T-Mo did a bait and switch on you. laugh out loud

I am new to this "Free Line On Us" promos. Can someone with prior experience answer these questions I have ?

1. T-Mobile rep says my account is eligible for this promo and I will receive a monthly discount of $25 for this line . So will my total monthly bill go down by $25?

2. I have autopay discount and Kickback, Will these also apply on top of the $25 free line discount ?

Thanks in Advance
1. No, the line cost $25 so that means you will get a credit of $25 per month on your monthly bill. So, basically they don't charge you for that line, but will have to show it on your bill.

2. As in #1. Your total bill now will stay the same. Unless you get charge on the $35 connection fee. Which is a one time charge.

Did this last time and they lied to me and I ended up with a paid line which I had to cancel. Super annoying. Scared to try this again.

I have reached out to t-mobile using 611 from phone. T-mobile said they cannot find the promotion anywhere and BYOD promotion was offerred last year. They are not sure if they are offering it this year.

Anyone successfully got the promo?

that never ends well. they don't have to honor what an employee says. there are a lot of dumb employees who have no clue what they are talking about and spit out incorrect information.
I second that.
It took me a month to get credit for a phone i bought and that only because i had screenshots otherwise forget it.

If you port another number from somewhere else INTO a free line, does it affect anything in the future?

Chat rep said I am eligible. Wanted to add the line but I am hesitant. I may chat later to get a second "opinion" from a another rep (55+ magenta plan here, only 2 paids lines) .
Just had a chat with a rep and im not eligible on a magneta 55+ plan.
Make sure your account is eligible coz their reps are 99% dumb.

I'm new to these free lines. Does it come with only voice or the same data as the rest of my lines as well?
It'll be another full/normal line like the rest of your lines so the same voice+data.

Thank you.

So if I understand this correctly, there is no real benefit(like reduction in total monthly bill) to adding a free line if there is no actual intention of using it.

so how did you add 2022 promo to the line? did you ask them to enroll that new line under BYOD promo?
The system automatically enrolled me after adding the line, using the self service option using a eSIM.
