Many reviews state that these don't work out of the box. People say once you lubricate them, they start working.

Nice deal. Also a micrometer is a tool for finding measurements. I was really hoping to see a torquing micrometer 🤔

I was also hoping to find a decent micrometer, but the 3/8ths in the description was odd, haha. A zero to 3/8ths micrometer would have a very limited use set for most people.

Just exchanged my old Husky torque wrench at Home Depot. EZPZ. Not as EZ as Sears was in the old days, but EZ for today's standards. Too bad Craftsman never did the lifetime warranty on theirs.

EDIT: Mobile app now shows both Lowes/Amazon links (still just the Amazon logo to the right)

(FYI, on SD android mobile app, the post shows Amazon logo, but link (the price) takes everyone to Lowes. Windows/desktop browsers (FF) show both vendor links.)

Lowes clearly calls this a click torque wrench, which is a well-known term for the low-accuracy/repeatability commodity tool.

Therefore, the term "Micrometer" is just referring to it's ability to set torque in the CCW direction? It's a misleading term for commodity clickers.

Yeah pretty unfortunate. I do some car work on my own car once in a while, so I had gotten a Craftsman torque wrench. Used it like 5 times. Next I went to use it months later, the drive just spins in place. Outside warranty period, so couldn't do anything

Did you reset the tension every time you finished using it? Or else the tension will be loose and cause it to spin like that.

You are correct that can mess up the calibration by storing it improperly, but that's very poor if it doesn't work at all. Many people have pointed out that they aren't lubricated well, and many don't work right out of the package.

I use mine often and have had it for 6+ years and have had zero issues other than the etched numbers are a little hard to read.

I thought I did, but idk. It was my first time owning/using a torque wrench, so maybe I did something wrong storing it

In the old days, did lifetime warranty apply to torque wrenches??

Craftsman is not same quality as it used to be??
