This sounds like a dumb idea in theory...introducing your cats to a new smell at their litter box might cause them to not want to use it and pee outside of it.

I change litter brands like I change underwear during rutting season. My cat couldn't give a shit less... litterally.

Clumping matters. I'm loving the 200 pounds of Fresh Step from some former deal here. That stuff forms dense asteroidal masses. Makes me want to do a big Kuiper Belt diorama for the neighbor's daughter.
