At this price you are quite lucky to find a laptop with a dedicated GPU at all. The Costco Nitro deal was really compelling for $450 but it sold out in minutes.
I upgraded to higher refresh display and the blue color for about $20 each.
The item I'm still not certain on is the charging capability via USB-C. There are a lot of conflicting reports and the 2021 and 2022 models could not. 2023 spec says that it can charge other connected devices but no mention of if it can receive power from a strong enough USB-c adapter.
Anyone by chance know for sure with 2023 model?

The $450 Victus at Best Buy included the 144hz screen and blue chassis, so you've now paid $60 more. The $699 Victus15 i5/4060 from Walmart, which offers way more value for $190 more than you paid, was something I considered until I read about the sticking touchpads and single PCIe slot. I don't know whether HP.com is decent for returns but Walmart sure is.

Still $200 less than Walmart's 12th gen offer you mentioned.
Perspective I suppose.
Using the tip WallEworld shared with obtaining/applying the $20 off coupon it allows the 144hz screen upgrade to result in a wash. So really if you don't care about the color (or prefer gray) you are only paying $20 more than the Best Buy Black Friday flash sale that had the Ryzen Victus 15 front page and still can be obtained out the door right at the $500 mark with taxes factored in.
I also read a recent article that recommended this Victus as one of the best value and capable laptops for engineering students-- so perhaps not just for those looking for gaming.
.
This is a good deal?
