Wifi and Bluetooth aren't very good on this from what I've read. The SoC is a beast though

They are using Intel Wi-Fi Card and in Reddit, it has been discussed that most of the problems were due a Driver issue and some improper setting in the Display Adapter which you can change from Device Manager. After installing the Driver from Minisforum, instead of Intel site, and changing the "MIMO power save mode" to No SMPS, fixed the issue for a lot of people.

Do these support eGPU? Worth considering for that type of set up?

TIL: SoC
System-on-a-Chip (SoC – pronounced ĕs-oh-sē or sŏck) refers to a type of integrated circuit (IC) design that combines many or all high-level function elements of an electronic device onto a single chip instead of using separate components mounted to a motherboard, as is done in traditional electronics design.

I did know eGPU, at least.nod

Yes, it supports eGPU using either of the two USB4 Type-C port and it has been tested by multiple reviewers. Check the below video for details.

Meh.

Honestly, $489 for the Barebone is already not that exciting of a price. $110ish for 32GB of RAM + a 512GB SSD isn't a bad add-on price though.

$490 Barebones
$600 with the RAM and SSD

Neither of these are all that slick.

Yes, all the Zen 4 based Ryzen APUs have AI engine built in, with 10 TOPS calculation power. Tom's hardware recently did a AI performance test with software available from Intel, optimized for Intel AI engine but surprisingly found out that AMD chips are often ahead of Intel Meteor Lake, even on those Intel optimized apps.

I disagree with you on that. You do realize this is the most powerful Mini PC on the market. 7940 is an absolute best. The real problem here is that this model doesn't include the oculink port. I'm betting that is hurting the sales of this model vs the model with oculink and the 7840.

I had this model and replaced with the UM780 XTX. The UM790 is the faster chip, but the UM780 is faster out of the box due to stock TDP, but TDP is easily changed. Both are great. I highly recommend either model barebones and purchaing your own faster SSD and RAM induvidually on a deal. The UM780 has better USB layout and dual nics. In my case, I am utilizing both nics and removing the WiFi card for a 2230 2TB SSD. A cheap Dual Antenna BT 5.3 adapter gets the Xbox Controller back in business. These new MiniPCs are amazing. So Fast and I am using 9.7-15.2 watts typing this post right now.

I have this PC and it is really great in general, but I have two complaints. First, the USB 4 ports share 15W which is lame. What is worse is that even when just using 1 port, it will not power an Asus portable monitor which is rated for 10W.

So when I tried bringing this to Minisforum, I was asked to take a video of the issue which makes no sense, but I did it anyhow. After that, they asked for my purchase info. After that, crickets. They have completely ghosted me with no further responses. This level of support is completely unacceptable and I will take my business elsewhere.

Out of curiousity, could you comment on fan noise? (both during normal use, such as surfing, word processing, excel etc, and during high load use, such as playing a video game or video editing).
My pet peeve is fan noise, and am in the market to buy a new desktop PC.

Thanks in advance!
