All of the tools you need for fitment are in the description. The only way I could have made it easier would have been to list every year, make, model application for every set, which isn't practical with several sets available. None of these sets fits any Accord. I spent extra time building this listing so that anybody could easily find their application with the links provided.
Scotty Kilmer said slotted rotors wear the pads down quicker and I could see that
Drilled and/or slotted rotors on street cars is 100% BS and they're basically just snake oil. Buy a set of high performance pads if you want a measurable impact on braking performance.

Frankly, these will just wear out faster and are a waste of time/money- unless you're just going for a particular aesthetic on your.... Nissan Altima 🙄

All good advice. My extra two cents is, get yourself a cheap vacuum pump and an extra bottle of brake fluid. Whenever you do a brake job (2-3 years for most driving habits) take the 15 extra minutes to draw fresh fluid through the lines. Your brake system is a VERY expensive one to replace end to end if you let the fluid go foul and it ruins the master cylinder, lines, calipers, etc. Brake fluid does not last forever!

That is actually good advice. An everyday driver should expect to change out brake fluid every 75k. Lol

What's next upgrade your brake lines to SS?

Just buy it if it fits your vehicle. Heck of a deal

I did my brake pads and rotors and it's one of the easiest intermediate-level jobs on your car. It's definitely worthwhile: I paid $180 for both axles and I was getting quotes between $600-$1200 for the service. And the performance of these aftermarket parts is so much higher: drilled rotors, rust-free materials, quiet and efficient pads.

Here are some other tools that are necessary on top of your typical tool kit.
* A piston press – $20 on amazon. Most caliper pistons require LH or RH turning while compressing to accommodate the pad material
* An S-biner or heavy-duty hanger to hang the caliper
* a syringe to remove excess brake fluid (avoid overflowing at the mast).

Even a n00b can do 1 axle in 2 hours. It's a great way to improve your skills & pay more attention to your cars maintenance. I identified some other minor issues while I had my wheels off that other mechanics were overlooking.
It's one thing for a newbie to make a car not run, but another thing to make it not stop.

You don't even need a piston press, pry bar or screwdriver will suffice.

I agree with this dude. If you have some track car I can understand drilled/slotted rotors.

But there is value to this deal. Heck, if I could get pads and rotors this cheap. Why not? They will work perfectly fine.
You don't want drilled for track work. Cracks develop at the holes pretty quickly under repeated threshold braking. Slotted is good to evaculate some heat and gasses, though.

You know a suspension rebuild kit for an Altima is 160 bucks every day right? 46 bucks for front rotors. I'm here because I'm cheap lol.

*I also own a reliable car for my family*

Please carry on with the deserved Altima hate, but some of you guys are just racist dog whistling and that ain't cool.

I've used the power stop kits of Amazon before and they do work well for the price. Ive ordered them for a few different vehicles and had 2 issues though:
1. At the time at least, they packaged the rotors and pads in the same box. The rotors crushed the pads boxes. Luckily nothing was damaged.
2. Drilled/slotted rotors are directional. One kit sent me two passenger side rotors. My only option was to return and replace which was frustrating but moreso led to quality control issues.

3rd issue wasn't the fault of the pads but just a pro tip. Grab a set of rotor screws off Amazon if you order. I had one strip out when trying to remove. Was easy enough to drill out and remove but still had to make a trip to the auto store to get a replacement screw and if you only have one vehicle this is difficult if your wheels and brakes are off. Save yourself the headache. Always good to replace them with new screws anyway and it's only a few bucks.

While your at it get some gloves, brake cleaner and grease and clean and grease your caliper pins to prevent seizing. The extra $10 and 5m of work can save a lot of grief down the road. Use the gloves! The cleaners are pretty harsh stuff.

+1 on the caliper pin siezing. Had this happen after a rotors / pads change and my pads started girding against my rotors since they wouldn't pull away.

I disagree. My Honda minivan looks much cooler with red painted calipers and drilled rotors.
Ironically, I add Snake oil to my Mobil 1

This depends entirely on the vehicle. Do the wrong thing with the wrong caliper and you'll have an expensive replacement.

ya, and if you have an electronic park brake, you had better find out if you need maintenace mode. Otherwise kiss your caliper good bye. My mazda is a PITA.

As a young fella I worked as a mechanic and in 40+ years have always done my own work unless I needed expensive equipment like a press for differential work and I don't do automatic transmissions.

I've stocked up on ProStop products in prior year clearances for three light trucks.

Pro Stop is OK for normal, every day conditions like I encounter in the Los Angeles area.

For my vehicles I drive into the Sierra Nevadas with they do not perform well. The mountain driving/braking for these tend to develop a glaze in the rotors very quickly which damages braking performance and safety. Some times I was able to temporarily "deglaze" them by lightly braking on down grades for long distances but they just aren't durable enough.

Full disclosure, I drive my cars hard and usually either have a heavy load and/or a 8-10k lb trailer. Currently I pay for the Duralast Golds and have found them to handle the mountain's well.

Change your brake fluid, or change your master cylinder and possibly all calipers. Choice is yours.
