Frankly, these will just wear out faster and are a waste of time/money- unless you're just going for a particular aesthetic on your.... Nissan Altima 🙄

*I also own a reliable car for my family*
Please carry on with the deserved Altima hate, but some of you guys are just racist dog whistling and that ain't cool.
Think of drilled rotors like a cheese grater...

100%. BS No..99% Maybe . 2014 Toyota sienna warps rotors due to airflow problems. Toyota TSB has you cut away some plastic to direct airflow over the rotor. Factory routers warped at 30k that's how I found out about the TSB.

They're not BS. They're just not practical to most people that don't have sports cars. The slots create resistance and give you more stopping power. The holes/drilled allow ventilation and will keep your pads cool. All good things, but you sacrifice a lot of wear, meaning you will probably be replacing your pads and rotors a lot sooner.
My advice on rotors and pads, go with a value brand like this deal and spend your money on better tires.
Why couldnt they at least say this set fits toyota, this set fits xyz
all rock auto will do is say "this wont fit your selected vehicle.
Here are some other tools that are necessary on top of your typical tool kit.
* A piston press – $20 on amazon. Most caliper pistons require LH or RH turning while compressing to accommodate the pad material
* An S-biner or heavy-duty hanger to hang the caliper
* a syringe to remove excess brake fluid (avoid overflowing at the master cylinder).
Even a n00b can do 1 axle in 2 hours. It's a great way to improve your skills & pay more attention to your cars maintenance. I identified some other minor issues while I had my wheels off that other mechanics were overlooking.
Investing in a few tools is way cheaper than hiring out the work, and I find that the best quality repairs and maintenance are the ones I do myself. Autozone's tool loan program is a good resource for those with limited tools. I haven't used it in years but I guess they still have that program.

I've stocked up on ProStop products in prior year clearances for three light trucks.
Pro Stop is OK for normal, every day conditions like I encounter in the Los Angeles area.
For my vehicles I drive into the Sierra Nevadas with they do not perform well. The mountain driving/braking for these tend to develop a glaze in the rotors very quickly which damages braking performance and safety. Some times I was able to temporarily "deglaze" them by lightly braking on down grades for long distances but they just aren't durable enough.
Full disclosure, I drive my cars hard and usually either have a heavy load and/or a 8-10k lb trailer. Currently I pay for the Duralast Golds and have found them to handle the mountain's well.
Yes and no. Yes, the pads will wear a tiny bit faster, but thats more due to the rotor being able to dissapate heat more quickly.
In reality with street driving you wont notice a difference because youre never going to get your brakes hot enough for it to matter.
Most times when people swap to slotted rotors they also go with a more aggressive compound pad, which is the lions share of why they arent getting as many miles out of pad changes.
Scotty also says a bunch of things that just aren't true and has been proven to be really out of touch, especially lately. He has tried to say stuff like "every turbo car will need a full rebuild every 60k miles" which is just plain wrong.
